Is there a way to make the tree body a seperate mesh from the leaves? I want to make the body a nanite mesh but I want to keep the leaves on a normal resolution to reduce the pressure on hardware.

As you can see in the video, yes. But only in UE 5.1

@@drawwithnightbuzzer i have ue 5.1 but this isnt working, the shadows are eating up all memory when world position offset (moving leaves) is enabled.

@@coffeediction Wow, then it shouldn't be a problem. I have a 2060 Super 8Gb, and it works fine. I mean, it's only very laggy when I place a bunch of those in my scene. I can't really see a solution to that problem now. One thing you can do is turn off preserve area, so the trees far in the distance will not look nice at all, but it will run faster. Let me know if that helped.

Sir its not import 2nd project.. When i import then some problem (That the installation failed.. It could n't be copy all files) how can i use these trees other projects.. And What is migrate asset..?

Hi. Migrate assets is exactly what you need. If you right click on your asset, then asset action, migrate, then you can choose the folder where to copy them.

Hi! Can you help me with my winter foliage issue? When I click the 'winter' button in Material Instanse I need all the leaves to dissapear but some of them turn brown and still remain. What should I do so the only bare branches remain on the trees? 😥

Hi. The he best solution I can think of right now is to apply a masked material with no opacity, so that it's going to mask the leaves out.

@@drawwithnightbuzzer It turns out the problem is much simpler and the leaves don't disappear at all. They are just stylezed like winter ones, like they turn brown, but still remain in their places. Why it happens? In video tutorials, it works with a single click.

Hi. I'm glad you like my videos. I haven't been very affected by that problem, but I think that if you go to the window tab, then preview scene settings, environment, and uncheck show environment will fix it. Yeah. That is for sure the fix.

@@thegreatSalu Sorry, my mistake. I just remembered. You need to install Quixel Bridge on your computer, and the open it, log into your Epic Games account, and from the edit tab, you will find "manage plugins". Open it and install the plugin for Unreal.

@@drawwithnightbuzzer Oh I always had Quixel..I'm upgrading from Unreal 5.0 to 5.1..its seems it was in vault, I was able to find it when I just looked for bridge...

Yes, but I don't think you want to lose the shadows. I think there's a setting for the nanite mesh to make it less detailed, that way, you would probably have a better performance. But I need to look it up. I'll come back when I find an answer.

The only solution that I could find is working on the settings for the nanite mesh. You need to set the "Keep Triangle Percent" setting lower, to even 1, and set the "Trim Relative Error" higher, maybe 20 or more. And then save. But keep in mind that in lumen, the mesh will look awful, because it will be low poly. But in Path Tracing, it remains the same. Also, for performance, you could turn off "Preserve Area", and the meshes that are far in the distance will not look so good, but at least It will make the scene run better. Hope I helped you.

Like it. Anyone knows why as soon as I change those trees to nanite, they loose their textures? I mean, textures seem to be applied, but I don't see them in a viewport or game mode?

Maybe the shaders haven't finished compiling.

Anyone got this problem or know a solution? With megascans trees - when i turn on nanite they work - but if i place trees as foliage tool then the wind shader doesn't work.. Is this a known issue, and is there a way to fix the wind shader to work with instances?

Hi. I tried now to see if that happens to me as well, and it's not. They work perfectly fine. Have you used the simple wind assets or the pivot painter? That might be the issue.

Why these low poly ugly trees would even need nanite ? They are low poly enough to run without problems with default lods.

I know, but just so you know, not all of them are low poly, some have millions of polygons. Anyways, this video is more based on how to get the trees in UE 5.1, not so much about the nanite.😉
