@sam canning Protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) is not a specific disease, but is described as a group of diseases that cause the loss of proteins from the bloodstream into the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Primary GI disease, heart disease, and diseases of the lymphatic system can all cause PLE. I recommend a fresh food diet, some supplements and remedies but I'd have to research more on this issue as I don't know enough about it, especially as I need to consult you to know the history first and way up what to advise depending on the dogs current health. There's my One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/ which is the option I can help with and if you do take this up, please email me first to check for availability: danscott (at) healthydogforlife.com

I have been dealing with diarrhea with a dog for close to a year now. Spent lots of money on vets, blood tests, etc. At one point, he lost so much weight that he was down to skin and bones and I thought I might lose him. Before this, he was a picture of health and had beautiful muscles (a very active Border Collie), which he lost and has not yet been able to build back up. I have tried everything including most of the things you listed. At times, I would get good poops and think "Oh, YAY!" Then a day or two or three later, the bad diarrhea was back again. A few times, it would be better for a week or more and he would gain three to five pounds (HOORAY!), only to go back to cow pies or bad diarrhea again. This has been such a strain on me and my pocket book. I am nearly 80 now and have been raising dogs for 60+ years with never a problem so bad as this! I made some bone broth recently (beef) which really knocked him back again. I think he is allergic to beef. I just ordered some of the chicken bone broth which you recommended. He has been on CBD oil, both good pro- and pre-biotics, good kibble, and some other digestive supplements off and on (whatever seemed to work!). I ordered your e-book and am still hopeful that I can get this under control once and for all. (I raised him from the litter and he just turned 8 and is a very remarkable dog!). Thanks for your video.

Sorry to hear this. Yes, sometimes there's unknowns in the way of good health that keep us scratching our heads. I have no history, so I'm guessing a bit here. Do you get him annual vaccines? I'm thinking there may be auto immune issues. Any vet drug use? You mentioned kibble, what is the basic diet this past year? I'll come back to you.. or email me.

@@patriciav.1891 He was on chicken and rice for quite a while in the beginning with no good response. Recently I tried adding hard boiled egg plus a couple other things that should have been good for firming up stools, but he ended up with really bad diarrhea again! Back to skin and bones once more. He seems to back on an upward track again now (a few days later) after going back to a list of foods and herbs, etc. that have worked better in the past. I had started keeping a diary of what I fed him every day, which has helped me a lot. Once in a while I would get good poops for close to a week, then suddenly back to cow pies. He gets very little kibble, which is a whole foods type, broccoli, chicken bone broth, pro and prebiotics... the list is too long to show here. He has never gotten any vaccinations except, I think, just two puppy shots. He is 8 now and this began last May, so nearly a year ago. He lost lots of weight and all his beautiful muscles! I keep hoping.

We give our dogs kefir with added D3+K2 3 times a week they also get CBD oil on alternative days. Their diet consits of beef, chicken, cod and hadock and occasionally tined salmon or tuna. All meals are served up with pre cooked basmati rice with added coconut oil and it's always servrd from the fridge as once rice has been cooked and put in the fridge it no longer becomes a corbohydrate starch based food but becomes feed for the good bacteria without the starch. They also get Coq10 5 times a week as one of the dogs suffers from epilepsy and a mild heart condition, she gets medication for the epilepsy but we didn't take the vets advice to put her on heart medication as well as i understand too many big pharma drugs can do more damage long term than good so we chose the epilepsy treatment over the heart medication because without epilepsy treatment she will have a fit every day and sometimes upto 3 times a day. She is 8 years old and was born with tooth displacia (no enamel) , when she was six years old we had 28 of her 42 teeth removed because we understand bad teeth can create poor health. Over the last 2 years at least 8 of her teeth have started to grow back and the vet is amazed. I had to explain to the vet that this is all down to the K2 + D3 in her diet as it diverets any excess calcium in the diet to the teeth. Both my wife and I have stopped smoking since 2018 and become vegetarians, and over the last 2 years and I myself started looking into comming off high blood pressure medication and statins for high cholesterol which i take alternative natural remedies and its worked , i was also diagnosed in 2021 with an underactive thyroid and my doctor wanted to put me on medication but I have cured this by taking iodine derived from sea kelp and its worked. I was also diagnosed with a very large benign prostate condition and have also managed to reverse my PSA results using alternative home remedies and now i can urinate with better pressure than I had 20 years ago. I have become a great believer in alternative natural remedies rather than take big pharma drugs that come with nasty side effects. I've even managed to reverse my liver spots which i suffered with for the last 4 years. Im 66 and other than a deteriorating spine condition I'm in better physical condition than I've been for the last 20 years. I am currently experimenting on myself using alternative healthy no side effects home remedies to hopefully regenarate my spine discs and i think its working because i have gone from a wheelchair to crutches to a walking stick which I only have to use on certain days probably 50% of the time. This has allowed me to get my motorcycle back on the road this summer because I've not riden my motorcycle for 10 years because of my spine condition. My doctor's had me on Tramadol, pregablin and antidepressants ever since my back surgery in 2016 but I no longer take any if them. By the way i replaced my antidepressants with P-5-P or B6 which I would advise anyone to try as it has given me back that positive outlook and a zest for life which is very beneficial. Its heen an absolute learning curve for me and all this research into alternative treatments started with the first lockdown. My first battle was my weight which took me 6 months to get from 20 stone down to a steady 13 stone. Since then i have reserched many things and everything i have done has had a positive effect on my life and my dogs. Happy days.

Hi David, he can no longer tollerate the diet given for several reasons. If you are to make a difference at this point, you MUST implement diet change right away and begin a course of strong CBD oil 3x daily along with other supplements, see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2akYomdr86Ie6c The suggestions in this video are a wise idea too. My Ebook: Feed Your Dog Better is a great place to begin: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ It has all the information you need about dogs and their nutrition needs and then contains 3 types of diet. For your dog I highly recommend you go with the raw food diet to help stop the cancer as kibble feeds cancer.

I couldn't take him to the vet because he was generally aggressive and I treated him at home. He didn't eat food of course. He only drank a lot of water. I also took medicine that was dissolved in water. (Regidron). And I also dissolved a charcoal tablet in water. He recovered. I wonder if the dog has immunity after being infected with this virus?

Hello Doctor, Thanks for your content! My wife and I have a 14 month old Corgi who has had diarrhea since we got him at 3 months. He has a history pancreatitis, has had giardia 2x, and tapeworms even. I feel like nothing we do keeps him healthy. He is currently on the royal canine low fat and fortiflora probiotic, and was treated for giardia and the tape worms and his poop's quality seemed to be improving ( inconsistently he was starting to produce some more solid stools ). and his blood work came back clean. Now he has gone back to constant soft stools, i suspect maybe he is reinfected with giardia again? not sure. Also he had clostridium in mid September, and developed a 106 fever and lethargy our vet recommended we do x-ray and ultrasound to see if anything else was going and all is well with his organs (besides mild pancreatitis) Anyways, sorry for the lengthy comment. Do you think there's something more going on here? What can we do to help prevent giardia and tape worms in the future? and what can I do to improve his gut health?
@DanScott1 Жыл бұрын
What's happening is this: The diet is of low nutritional quality (all vet supplied foods are). Combined with vaccinations, possible vet drugs and environmental pollution you have a dog with bad gut health or leaky gut. Here's what to do: Transition the dog to freeze dried raw foods that you moisten and feed: here's two great options: Bixby Rawbble Freeze Dried Raw chicken - amzn.to/3YH6GVD Bixby Rawble - Freeze Dried Lamb - amzn.to/3kDbUmX Go slowly with a small amount of new food added to old food and raise new to old food over two/three weeks until it's 100% new food. Add this soil based probiotic to the new food, again, just a small amount to srat and build up, this for gut health and easier digestion. Use this natural antibiotic Oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T add 1 drop to tsp olive oil and add to food once daily for 7 days then stop. Only use when needded for infection/cold/flu etc and for the people of the household too except it's 4 drops. Can uwse toppically too for skin issues. If there's worms you needBlack Walnut, Clove & Wormwood Extract: amzn.to/2S8paBE : 2 drops added to one meal daily for 14 days, stop 7 days, then a further 14 days and finished. All worms/giardia gone. And to first settle the gut inflammation use Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 Feed on an empty stomach 1/2tsp in water or plain yoghurt to eat. Do this at the beggining for a week. Do all the above and you'll have a different dog in 30+ days.

I'm considering the Bixby Chicken, and I also wanted to add some broccoli, and maybe a raw egg to his diet as well. @DanScott12 күн бұрын
No, pumpkin is a prebiotic, which is different from a probiotic: Prebiotic: A food that nourishes beneficial gut bacteria, helping them to grow and thrive. Pumpkin is a prebiotic because it contains fiber, which lowers the pH level of the large intestines and provides nutrients for good bacteria. Probiotic: A supplement that contains live beneficial bacteria that help to keep the gut in balance. Ie yoghurt and kifer.

I think settling the inflammed gut first will help. Two ways here, the instant way with L-glutamine powder - amzn.to/34wiNOn which you take 3grams, add to 100ml coconut water and let the dog drink it all up and brings gut relief within 30 mins. It's pretty tasteless. BTW good for any gut issues in people too (use 5grm in 200ml water and swallow). Give that to the dog once daily untill gut is better. Or use Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 which coates the digestive tract from throat to anus, helping to soothe and lower inflammation. Just give once daily on an empty stomach, again untill obvious relief is there. The diet needs changing to something much more fresh food based and along the lines you are now taking your dog in. Hello Sir I have a 13 year Pomeranian her X-ray shows gases filled intestines n is detected with endometriosis, had a severe skin infection now getting healed through injections n medication but main problem is that she is not sleeping laying on bed she is sitting n sleeping.. can you tell what exactly can be the problem n how can I help her
@DanScott12 жыл бұрын
Diet: She now needs strictly fresh food diet only. No carbs, just meat/fish proteins, raw eggs, part cooked aqnd blended veggies. NO kibble, no vaxx, no drugs or carbs. She's not sleeeping as she's full of drugs. When they stop, it's the diet part above, focus there. What country are you in?

What will I do to help digest the bones that my dog ate? 🥺 I'm afraid it can cause serious illness to my dog.
@DanScott12 жыл бұрын
Nothing really, takes 2-6 hours and it's all over for digestion.. Raw bones are fine but this sounds like cooked bones which are harder to digest but still will go through just fine 9 times out of 10. Get probiotics as they help a lot: amzn.to/3xqa2i0

Bone broth is so bad . The bone is the part of the animal that contains the illness :(
@DanScott13 жыл бұрын
Bone broth is made with healthy bones from healthy animals. The unhealthy ones are sent to the abbatoir and end up in pet food.

Both your latest comments were held for some reason. I've gone on anecdotal evidence and practice over the past 20 years as it works again and again for dogs needing recovery. It's been a lifesaver at times.

@@sammorris2934 Bone broth works really well. Used it for years as have many others.

Dog “gut health”😂 They have concentrated acid in their digestive tract that can turn bones into jelly. Here are 5 things that contribute to robust bacteria in your dog’s gut. 1) Cat sh*t 2) Something dead they find on a walk 3) meat from the fridge that is going bad 4)sticks 5) Another dog’s sh*t

LOL, another dogs shit could do with being raw fed, otherwise it's used kibbles : (. You forgot licking bums and kids faces lol.
