We had an extrude hone in our plastics extrusion shop. It was a really neat machine. The only thing is, though, is it can make bad turns and slow areas in a head worse. The media is going to go where it wants to, not where you tell it to. You really can't beat porting by hand or cnc. Hand porting, then extrude hone is a whole other level.

I have a civic with the k24z7, so exhaust header is just a big hole in the cylinder head. Any gains to be had from using this process? Or is a head swap still the best way to go
@motoiq3 ай бұрын
4P has made huge gains with this head. This process probably works good too.
@mikellewis2346Ай бұрын
Head swap would give u v-tec on both intake an exhaust as well as multiple ports for exhaust. But if your using a turbo the single port head can still be used to make great power. It all depends what your doing with the motor an what car its also in.

Omg i was wondering when someone would use this method. I learned about it in school and always thought it would be great for manifolds and stuff but i wasnt sure how available it was to the US. If someone did it near me i would def get my manifolds and stuff honed
