Another tip would be to keep yourself constantly immersed in the language by making English a part of your daily routine. Take an online course for your academic studies in English, pursue some professional development in English (i.e. attend international conventions, seminars, etc. on your field but in the English language), or take up a hobby like writing short stories or blogging in English. There are also so many ways to entertain yourself in English: watch a TV series, documentaries, or stand-up comedies with and then without English subtitles, look up the meaning of the lyrics of your favourite songs, and these are just to name a few. This approach will help you learn a great deal over time and you'll get better at English without even realising it. As for the speaking practice, you could arrange some on-site or online speaking sessions with an English teacher, keep in touch with any English-speaking friends or relatives abroad, find some pen-friends and language buddies, or even attend a summer school at some point. Hope this helps! Keep working hard everyone! You can do it. :)

James, you are a natural (apart from being enormously knowledgeable). I watch your lessons ever so often (regardless the level) because the way you express yourself and the way you teach for that matter is so meaningful and insightful. Many thanks from yours truly. N.B. almost forgot: one of the most important notions you teach is that of humor. The way I see it, teachers out there really have to understand the importance of it. Example: find tourists; please, don't harass them. Wicked! LOL! Cheers again man!

I live in Argentina and we get visitors from all over the world, a lot of english speaking people. A good idea for me when I go on vacation is going to a hostel instead of a hotel where there are people from all over the world and they're simple people who are in the mood to talk. I had the chance to talk to a lot of turists from Canada that were very friendly and helped me practice my english. I also had such a good time that the good vibes lasted me for very long.

It's an outstanding idea, James! I'm impressed and I mean it. There's just this tiny little 'but' hiding round the corner. You see, It's a great tip for those who've got the opportunity to talk native speakers. The whole idea is really cool... In theory, though. I don't mean I don't like it, Im sure I'll make use of it as soon as I get to meet some native speakers... The question is, though, what shall I do to improve my conversation and speaking skills effectively in the meantime?
