I had bought this game last winter but never really played much until recently. Bunker shots have been the biggest problem for me. I was always hitting it over the green no matter what I tried. This tutorial was really helpful. Thanks man!

How did you get that swing meter ? I hate the one I have but cant seem to find the one you're using in this video.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. I was set on strictly chipping out. But after watching your video and practicing for a bit, it is much improved splash time now. Sounds very real and how the pros sound with the thud hitting the sand when you get the proper swing and contact. Feels good to be able to not only get it out now but not be scared of the splasher…. Lol. Now….. you give real golf lessons as well??? Bunker in real life as well can be an adventure at times. 🤣

Thanks for the tips. Great videos. I've also been told "flop" shots are a good idea from the bunker. I'll be practicing this week for sure. Continued Success!!

Thank you Ralph! Yeah a lot of people are liking the flop shot as well from the bunkers, I do this in same cases when deeper in the bunker or on longer shots.

Great stuff! Am curious if you’ve played with moving the aiming arrow closer to you and then moving it farther away. You’ll notice the back swing comes back a lot slower the closer the arrow thus your down swing has to be slower. I’ve played with this a bit and there’s definitely a change in tempo, so you saying take practice swings is an absolute must because the tempo will change depending on where the arrow is at. Anyway just something I noticed and could possibly be useful for more control… just have to remember to go slower on the down swing.

What exactly does the distance control setting do? Thank you.
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
So it makes the grey region and white region on the power bar bigger making it easier for you to hit the perfect power on the golf shot.

Loving your videos.. one thing I have a question about.. when account for the percentage (say 90%) out of the sand, wouldn't you take 10% off of where you are actually putting your aim marker to land it?
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
So if the sand is a 90% lie for a bunker shot, after you pick you landing zone you would have to add 10% more to hit the same landing spot. Does that make sense? So the full shot out of the sand will only travel 90% of its listed full carry distance shown, so you need to compensate and add 10% to make up the difference or you will land short.

Question: When you set up partial shots viewing the swing meter, the gray and white areas separate from the red area as you reduce the power. How do you do that? I use a keyboard and mouse, and when I press the downward arrow all three elements (gray, white and red) move together. I don't seem to be able to separate them and do partial shots like you describe. Thanks for your comprehensive instructions. I've learned a lot from them.
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
So that is likely because you have distance control assist turned on in the difficulty settings. It will not separate from the red area, but it actually makes partials easier because it keeps you from hitting too far past your partial distance chosen. So it is still technically a partial, but the swing meter looks different. So if you want the swing meter to look like mine, just turn off distance control assist in the difficulty settings. Hope this helps!

@@GamerAbility Yes, that did it. Thanks for the prompt help. Keep the instructional videos coming. They are really helpful.

Them flop shots from 50 in are pretty deadly once you get the hang of the distances and the kind of rolls you'll be getting. Anytime I'm in the sand from 18-30 out I'm pulling out the calculator and flopping it 😭
@davidchambers1342 жыл бұрын
Hi buddy how do you zoom. Into the green when you are that close I only ask because I can only zoom in from around 50 yards thanks for your help 👍🏻
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
So if you have the scout camera turned on in the difficulty settings, just hit the Y button for Triangle button depending on what controller you are using. I am not sure the input on mouse and keyboard.

Great video! However, you may need to update now that chipping from the bunker is no longer a possibility...I personally like to use flop shots from greenside bunkers (distance permitting....)

Do you play sim? If not could you still do a video of putting with no aiming marker(most sim societies don't use aiming marker because of ppl who use vibration), and no green grid please?
@chrismiller93262 жыл бұрын
So I’m a little confused on the percentages of the game when you have the swing meter on. Club goes a total of 35 yards, but you want to land it 14 yards. That’s 40%, but the swing meter says 78%. Is it already taking into consideration the lie penalty and uphill penalty?
@kjtroop47522 жыл бұрын
I too wonder about some of the percentages in this game. I don’t think you’re far off on your thinking. It might already be taking the lie percentage into account. Thus the 78% less whatever the lie percentage is will get you to that 40% being taken off. Hmmff i wonder. 😂 I will say the quicker you start “feeling” the shot rather than trying to do tons of calculations the better you’ll get and the more enjoyable the game becomes. Just a 2 cents for what it’s worth thing. 😉
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
So for some reason the power meter and swing percentages are not actual percentages of the club carry distance. This was the same in the last game as well. I am not sure why they do not do actual percentages on the swing meter.

Hope you still return here for a question. I've not played 2K23 since last summer (23), but back at it. My recall on some aspects are missing :-) Q#1: How do you get the putting surface to display the grids/break lines? Q#2: Same green side bunker as you. My information box (Upper right corner) shows: 687Y to the pin. ~Thanks~

Why is it that when I press Y(I’m on Xbox) to view the camera to see where the ball will hit when I’m close to the green, it never shows the landing arrow head spot? It just show me a half blue line and won’t let me zoom into the green. Idk what I’m doing wrong it’s very frustrating
@CF554433 ай бұрын
I'm having same issue. Scout cameras are on. I can zoom into green from 50 yards and further. Anything inside 44yrds shows blue line from a side angle. Pushing left toggle button down shows different angles around the green but nothing close in. Any additional suggestions?

i thought pulling down on the right stick would deloft the shot?
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
So pulling down the right stick in shot shaping changes the attacking angle of the shot, it adds spin and adds slight loft, and moving the right stick to the top adds frontspin and delofts. The left stick is the one that has the biggest affect on loft. Move left stick all the way down to increase loft, and all the way up to deloft.

@@thesteelehometeam No Jim.2k have it backwards.It is confusing.Right meter down opens the club face and adds backspin.Right meter up closes the club face and adds topspin. If you enter the practice area and have the ball tracker/ trajectory on you can see the difference L&R meters make.

so why would you even use the splash shot at all? Chip looks much easier

Also the flop shot for longer bunker shots.
@GamerAbility2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is so much easier, that is why most players chip or flop
@kjtroop47522 жыл бұрын
There are some bunkers that only a splash shot will get you out. Maybe a flop but I've encountered a couple where there was no way a chip was going yo work and especially if you're up against the face of it. Just an fyi.
