This is my first year growing a cover crop. It's growing really strong, it was heavily mulched with straw and compost chicken manure.

This is a very good video, I found it while I was searching on KZbin. My garden plot I've increased the size of it this year, I always keep it covered with six to 6 1/2 inches of woodchips. I stopped Tilling my ground. When I grow vegetables and fruit I never have to water or fertilize any of my garden, this is gardening to me now the only problem is I have nothing to do I simply plant and harvest and at the end of the year I may need to put down some woodchips.

Tilling promotes weed growth. Walking on the ground compreses the ground and sets you back on the benfits of growing the cover crop.

you should go no till. It lets your plants get more nutrients and helps the fungi along. We have bacterial soils. Move them to fungal soils and you will store more humates (stable form of soil carbon that lasts over 100 years) and be able to keep that soil porous.
