I guess the quality is random here. Cone mass is how many grams +/- here? 5-10 grams can mean 10hz in fs differences. At least they should weight it during they apply "coating" so they apply exactly right amount of coating. And apply the coating before they put together the speaker

this was and is considered a "no go" for me. It dampens the higher frequencies of the driver (mostly cone drivers so the mid´s) so the sound will get a little more pleasent. But also, the driver will get slower due to higher mass and the resonance will fall. All combined, you will destroy the concept of the speaker and have to redesign the cabinets and the crossovers! oh yeah and you destroy the value of the drivers ;)
