you will someday break the extractor inside the connector, and you will use tweezers to remove the remaining plastic! you can't scroll the extractor, if you don't hit the lock you have to pull it out, turn it and try again

No dear I am working from last 35 years as avionics engineer And very rarely insert / extractor tool gets damaged I think if i have only one piece, i can work years with only one

Even the metallic etract tool gets damaged frequently I remember i never damaged metallic etract tool as well Jammed pins in locks are problematic but sometimes i use little amount of lubricant and after removal i clean it using contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol
