Oh, Thank You for this! JUST got my PS5 Slim today, it's SO different than my PS4 Pro, not even putting in the discs is the same! I had NO IDEA I had to register my Disc Drive first, or, it won't work! Never had to do that before. I thought it was broken, lol! SO glad I'm not the only one that NO CLUE how to do this!🤣 New Sub!

Thank you bro. It’s been literal years since I owned a PlayStation after moving to PC and my muscle memory from PS3 was to insert the disc, cover art facing away from me (from vertical position). I was about to do that but I was like, hold the damn phone lemme search this just in case cause I dont wanna brick my disc drive 😭

@@kaas4601 yeah, if it’s a disc to a previous game it won’t work, you gotta purchase the game again digitally or get a ps5 disc.. the disc just gives you the game data.. it just kinda depends what game it is, it doesn’t happen with all of them

your is the Digital Edition then and would need to buy digital games from the PlayStation Store. or if you have the Slim then you can buy the disc attachment.

I just got my ps5 and searched this up I don't wanna mess up my new console, and good thing I looked it up because I was about to insert it the opposite way. I have mine vertical and it just would have made sense to do it that way as the bottom of the disc would be facing the bulkier area of the ps5.
