How to inspect a modified Warre hive

(From France, excuse translations errors). I imagine that this insistence (not only yours, but general) to constantly "inspect" the Warré hive serves only to give the illusion that the beekeeper "leads" or "directs" the swarm of bees. But it’s just an illusion. I friendly invite you to read the book by Father Warré (named "Beekeeping for all"), who created this hive in the last century, and who explains why it is essential to avoid constantly opening the hive. It is preferable for the bees to let them quiet, and for the beekeeper to learn to observe the bees on the hive entrance or behind the windows, (without opening the hive), and to deduce whether the swarm is doing well, or if there is a problem. (For example, there is a little book by Mr. Storch ( that lists the observations that can be made, depending on the season, and the deductions that flow from that).

Re Frame Postion. Tip : Brood is mainly near the Entrance. And Honey is primarily at the Back. Bees do this, so Robbers : Bees, Bears, even Beeks: would be stung plenty before getting access to the Honey. It's a Survival mechanism ! Steal Honey 'you get Stung'. Same applies to Hives. Brood at the Bottom, Honey above, out of reach ! Hives just replicate old Hollow Trees... 😎

Which way Frame ?!? 🤔 Tip : Bees put Brood near the Entrance in that Box, and any Lower ones too. [In Warre's only !] Others... its Boxes above the lower Brood Box... if Brood and a Half, or Double Brood. Langstroths etc. Honey is also at the Back of the Box... furthest away from the Robbers trying, near the Door (!) 🤣 Applies to Warre, Langstroth, UK Nationals basically, the Bees keep their Food (Stores) well away from the Main Entrance (point of easy attack !) You won't place a Frame the Wrong Way Again, unless, it's intentional to eg Draw out Foundation in a New Frame. Or if it's being ignored... put in near the fullest Frame, on the outer part of the Brood Nest threshold. Bam, it will be drawn out PDQ ! (Fast in that slot.) Interested to know why your frames are positioned horizontal to your entrance? I have mine positioned opposite to yours.

They are positioned in a Warm Way (Across) You can do this in Square Boxes, eg Warre, UK National Hive etc. Langstroth run Cold Way (Frame ends Front to Back from Entrance.) You don't have frame requirements? Could you run skeps? This is more of a modified Langstroth then it is a Warre.
