How to install a Cosco/Safety 1st/ Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 Car Seat Rear-facing with a seatbelt

Any place in the back seat of a car is fine as long as you get a good install. The middle is ideal but getting a good install is more important. Atleast that is what I have been told by many techs. I prefer the middle for my child and every car she goes in she's in the middle unless there is a forward facing kid or a younger child then they go there.

doesn't the base of the car seat have to sit on the sit. in the video there is a huge gap. also when I install mine there is little movement at the base but more then an inch when u move the top of the seat. I'm frustrated!

+Naomi Gale The large gap is fine. If the base is flat on the seat, it would not be correctly reclined. If you'd like, you may fill the gap with pool noodle sections or a rolled towel. As for movement, you only check at the belt path. The seat will move more the further you get from the belt path and that is okay.

Okay, how did you get it installed this tightly?! I've had this car seat for 6 months and I hate it because I can't get it installed correctly!

+Prince Habibu It's all in the video, but really, the install is different in each vehicle. It's possible that the seat is incompatible or just very difficult to install in yours.

Once you get the seat belt in and it's tight do you have to keep slipping the seat belt through and tightening it for every trip or can you just leave it in like with latch?

If it is installed correctly, it need not be redone.

The seat has little holes on the sides in the plastic, where the latch hooks should be hooked for storage. It's important to stow those latch hooks so they can't become a projectile.

@@cncurry11 thank you for replying so quick I've actually used the latch straps but I can't seem to find anywhere to put the rear latch strap is that only for forward facing the seat is pretty tight with hardly any movement so I'm guessing I've done it correctly I was going to do it with the belt as I didn't think my car had iso fix but it does

@@lukegiles5212 I believe the tether hooks to the back of the base at the bottom of the seat. If it's not there, find a place on the back of the side to hook it.

Incorrect!!! you still have to adjust two safety belts that the carseat has, including one that brings back the carseat you have to tie it to a tube under the car seat so that in an accident the baby does not get in the face or lose his life with the back of the car seat, because if you realize when pushing the back of the carseat it gets up easily, nothing can be moving or loose

If you are referring to the latch strap, I have it stowed on the latch strap storage locations. Many seats have spots designed for securing the latch hooks so they aren't free.
