@HeadlightRevolution6 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for asking. We're up here in Northern MN so I can relate. We live and breathe hockey. You definitely want better lighting for winter. Low Beam: the 55watt HID conversion kit is the BEST option for your low beam, whether you have projector or reflector housings. It is the brightest bulb and has a great beam pattern. Link to your truck-specific kit: headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-55w-gen-5-pwm-canbus-single-beam-hid-conversion-kit/ High Beam: LEDs bulbs will work better in your high beams because the HIDs have a delayed warm-up time (9-12 seconds) before reaching full brightness. When you flash your high beams on, you want immediate light! I bought a h4 relay harness(it uses one h4 plug from driver side and it connects to the battery too),two ballasts and two H1 xenon bulbs. I put everything together and it works fine,except one thing. When I switch on my lights and close them after a while, trying to open them again only drivers headlight came on. If I try on/off several times the passenger side work too. I thought my ballasts are bad and I bought new ones. But still the same. Is that a problem with my relay harness? Do I need a canceller/capacitor?

Hello sir, i have a question, how to instal h4 bulb if i have h7 wires from my car?
@delaccnt865 жыл бұрын
Hi. Are the Xenon kits (of each manufacturer) essentially the same? By that I mean that can you install a particular kit in a car with H4 bulbs, and then later remove the kit from the H4 car and install to another car (that takes H1 bulbs) with putting H1 bulbs?
@HeadlightRevolution5 жыл бұрын
The only component that would be able to be used in multiple applications with different bulbs would be the ballasts. The HID bulbs and relay harnesses have to be used in conjunction with the same bulb type that the vehicle has. So if it takes an H4, you'll need H4 bulbs and a relay harness. The ballasts are universal and can be used in any application.
@delaccnt865 жыл бұрын
@ @@HeadlightRevolution, Oh ok. My car's stock headlamps (reflector headlamps) take H4 bulbs and I currently have an H4 bi-xenon kit installed. The reason I ask is because I plan on putting new "angel eyes" headlamps (these headlamps I found for my car take H1 bulbs). So, besides the H1 bulbs that I will need to purchase, will I need a relay harness too, or is it different case with the H1 xenon kit?

Yeah they don't tell you that high beam bi-xenon hid bulbs scatter light instead of focusing it further down the road. The adjusting light would be a a good idea, if it worked..
@HeadlightRevolution4 жыл бұрын
Actually, the dual beam HIDs are used in an application where only one bulb is used for the low beam and the high beam. Whatever that factory bulb would have done, the high beam will reflect the same since they are the same bulb in the same position! Let us know if you need anything else!
@davidjenkins15684 жыл бұрын
Actually your wrong. Because if the hid bulb did the same thing as a factory halogen/ incandescent bulb, it would have 2 chambers inside the bulb where light would emit from, (which are both very close in a halogen) and they both would emit at the same time on high beams. The fact that both filaments on a h13 incandescent bulb light up on high beams, and the hid h13 bulb itself actually moves in is not the same, and does not act the same as a normal halogen. Like i said, it would be a neat trick, if it actually worked
@HeadlightRevolution4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I reserve the right to be wrong! But in all seriousness, we have tested these kits in many different vehicles, and in our testing we have found that there ARE certain housings that HIDs just do not perform as well in. That said, in the majority of headlights we tested these in, the solenoid in the HID bulb did a fantastic job at replecating the factory high beam beam pattern. I am not saying that they will be the most amazing upgrade in every housing, but for the most part they do a fantastic job at replacing the factory halogens! If you have any specific questions or concerns, we would be happy to help out as best we can if you just shoot us an email! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com

There's too much I don't understand about these HID kits. Why do they usually only do low beam? That makes no sense at all. What about the fact that HID's are supposed to use a projector and not a reflector...but 99%of them still use the reflector, even complete kits that replace the entire existing headlight assys? Why is it so hard to find answers to these questions in the first place????
@HeadlightRevolution8 жыл бұрын
Andork, I'm not 100% sure I understand all of your points but I'll try to answer some: 1. Why do they usually only do low beam? --- What do you mean? We have kits that do low beam and high beam. It's easy to do both. Even on dual beam HID kits like in this video, it will do your low beam and high beam in HID. 2. What about the fact that HID's are supposed to use a projector and not a reflector ---- Technically there are many OEM headlights that use a reflector housing paired with an HID system. It's more common to see an HID system run in conjuction with a projector housing, but not all the time. When you're doing an HID conversion kit in a reflector housing you are going away from how it was intended to be used, an HID in a halogen reflector housing, but they still work pretty good. 3. Even complete kits that replace the entire existing headlight assys? --- I'm thinking you're talking about when you buy an aftermarket housing from somewhere and they throw in an HID converison kit. It's all the same as #2. Proper HID projector headlights cost way more to make and people want everything for free nowadays so almost nobody makes anything decent like what you're talking about because noone will buy it... Check out Starr HID when you get a chance. DOT approved, aftermarket housings with HID systems and projectors.

Thanks for the reply. I've been mulling the idea of a conversion with my Avalanche (9005, 9006 bulbs) but going online and actually finding something even as simple as a "FAQ" page that explains the basics and separates myth from facts is easier said than done, everyone just wants to sell shit. There is a lot of debate over what works best, what doesn't work at all and what's even legal. That's before getting into the debate over beam patterns plus there's a LOT of aftermarket kits out, and, as we all know, some are good, some...not so much! I hate buyers remorse and if I ever take the plunge I want to do it just once, so, thx again.
