How to Install a Flex Fuel / Ethanol Content Sensor (MotorWerks or SiriMoto)

This video is a walk through on the installation of a Ethanol Content Sensor made by INNOVATIVE MOTORSPORTS and packaged as a kit by MotorWerks LLP. This kit is identical to SiriMoto’s kit so installation would be the same.
Keep in mind that in order to run this kit you’ll need a tune. It’s recommended that you do not run higher then an e-40 mixture to keep your fuel system safe. This kit can also be used with Ktuner but does require some additional programming (not in this video) it is recommended that you reach out to a professional tuner for guidance with questions on that process.

Yeah man, the next video will actually outline that. Eventually I’ll get another custom tune from as I add more parts. I have a downpipe in my garage waiting to get installed but I wanted to add this kit first. Just adding the ethanol should net 20-30 hp. It almost has the same effect that adding a Ktuner/hondata would to a stock vehicle. Just need to hope my tires hold up because they scream and chirp on the stage 2 right now. I’ll have to turn up VSA to help with launch traction.

Yes, this is the 2.0 K20 motor. Running flex fuel makes a huge difference. Check out PRL’s Flex Fuel Kit. It’s a plug and play kit and will work with the Ktuner if and when you buy one.

I just got the banjo bolts and crush washers to run the stock brake lines with the setup so everything can get installed soon. I also have the vinyl in my garage but it’s that damn time thing I need 😂 Roof spoiler...not sure about that one. I haven’t found one I liked.

Does your gas gauge work with E85 fuel? Any long term issues with upgrading?

Yes everything still works as intended. There are only issues if your mixture is above E40.

What happened to the catch can that you had there? I have a Mishimoto catch can on that bracket. Do you think I’d be able to install flex fuel with the catch can there or does it need to come out?

I took the can off like 30 days after putting it on because it kept leaking. But you should be fine, the fuel hoses should make any contact with the catch can setup. I believe it should still give you 4-5 inches of clearance no problem.

Correct. This kit had a dummy proof harness. Only one way to connect them all so it make the plug and play process really easy.

Yes but you’d need to change the tune. I have the normal stage 2 tune from Ktuner and my custom E35 tune loaded into tuner view. If I needed to swap tunes I could do it on the fly.

No injectors yet. This is actually the single largest issue with the 2.0 DI engine once you reach around 400 hp. The stock injectors reach max flow and there is nothing on the market to help. Possibly interchanging something with the type r when something is developed.

This is the one I got bro. I wanted it to swivel and this one does just that. Keep in mind the double sided tape they include AND 3M Doublesided tape do not work to mount this on the dash due to the texture. That’s why I ended up mounting it where I did. www.ebay.com/itm/290567908037

Check out PRL flex fuel kit. I got this one custom made for me and the guy who made is no longer making them. The PRL kits does the same thing but allows you to integrate into the ktuner.

Na, I couldn’t just yet. I had just filled my car up with 91 so I’ll need to use up at least 1/4 tank before I can throw in some E85 and load the tune. I’ll actually get some good baselines if stage 2 versus E-40 tune. It should be good!! Hopefully middle of this week, I’ve been driving around in sport mode everywhere I go 😂
