What lubricant did you use for the cutter head bearings? The red stuff.

Hi Ryan, thanks for your comment, it's a lubricant from a domestic brand but I don't remember now, but any lubricant is fine, there is no special requirements, for your reference, one of our customers used this www.lucasoil.com/product/red-n-tacky-grease/, please feel free to contact us by email service@findbuytool.com if you have further questions, Thank you for your support!

Very helpful! I used your same basic process for swapping out the cutter head. Do you have any tips for ensuring the replacement head is parallel to the table/base-plate or adjusting it?

Eric, glad to help you. The cutter head is machined by a CNC machine, and the accuracy is controlled at the μ level, so there is usually no non-parallelism with the base plate.

@@findbuytool Just to make sure, I measured a nice wide board on both sides using calipers and taking shallow passes, and determined that the crank side of the cutter-head and motor unit had to come down about 3/64 relative to the other end, so I just loosened the chain cog on the screw shaft, adjusted it a quarter turn relative to the far end, tightened and retested until the average thickness of both sides of the wide board passing through was within .002 of each other. Took about 3 small adjustments to sneak up on perfect parallel. It just means when I reassembled the unit I had turned one height-adjustment screw about 1 rotation more than the other before reattaching the chain under the bottom panel. I don't know how you would be able to test/adjust that without calipers, since the height screws don't have physical indexing points for the chain cogs.

@@ericnorman2176 Thanks, Eric. The DW733 is not as stable as the DW735, and it is true that there is a non-parallelism when changing the cutter head. I will get back to you on this issue after specific testing.

Don't waste your money. The motor will burn out, known problem with these machines.

Thank you for your comment, we suggest you choose a two-row helical cutter head if you are worried about the motor load. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.
