Sure makes a huge difference to have this done by someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks for sharing. Clean lines and no leaks are a huge plus. :)

We appreciate the support. We've finished our build and are working on more videos. Van builds are a lot easier than video production, for us! 😅😁 Thanks again!! www.vandm.ca

How did you deal with the ridges molded into the roof for the aft fan? (the one you show the saw blade cutting as viewed from below inside the van).
@VMvanlife5 жыл бұрын
There are spacer rings that are pre moulded to the shape of the van. I got ours on eBay over a year ago. Can't find the link to it. Hope this helps. Happy travels 👍

Thanks smart Canadian for suggesting sikaflex and not silicone...has it's uses but not on RVs. Greatvideo looking forward to build.

Happy to help, eh! Thanks for the kind words - encouragement for us to post more videos. We sure feel awkward on camera! :)

I had a little trouble lining up the holes I drilled and even the 4 screws would not line up to attach the top half of the fan, I used a scribe to line up the screw holes and it was smooth sailing after that. Just a helpful hint for anyone else getting ready to do this. Scribe work miracle, LOL.

Witchleaf Glad to have you! Look forward to sharing more of the build. We are working hard to prepare for our first "trial" trip. On IG (@vandmvanlife) we we posting quick photo updates as we go through the build. Next month, we will have a chance to organize and upload more build videos and start sharing the "next time we would..." tips.

Hi, how did you connect the wires, didn't see that on the video... Is it ran to the existing wires that are for the factory light that was there?

Thank you for this video, I'm really looking forward to watching your build! We're considering installing two of the same fans in our build, but I'm concerned that when I'm using the remote control in an attempt to control one fan, the other fan will be close enough to react as well. Do you find that when using the remote control both fans react to the command? For example, if we're in bed at night and I want to turn on the fan above us, I don't want the fan at the front of the van to turn on as well. Thank you!!
@VMvanlife6 жыл бұрын
Daane Griffeth The one remote works really well. You point it at the fan you want to command, hit one button and it will sync with that fan then you can select the function you want. Repeat on second fan. We've been really happy. If you, like us, don't have huge head space over bed fan you will also find it super easy to use the buttons directly on it. Based on our experience, you have nothing to worry about. :)

What about the warm air from my heater in when its cold? Doesn't the warm air disappear quickly through this Maxx Fan?
@VMvanlife6 жыл бұрын
J. Cannonball We purchased RV roof vent insulators. They fit inside the vent to stop heat loss in the winter. We found they worked quite well but any heat loss that occurs is worthwhile for ventilation. These vents are critical for cooking in any season/weather and keeping cool in hot weather. Hope this helps!

Could you send me an maxxfan deluxe to germany please?
@VMvanlife6 жыл бұрын
J. Cannonball 😅 We aren't a dealer or have inventory - we build our campervan and now help others with theirs. I wonder what it would cost to ship them to Germany. 🤔🤔 You can see more about our build at www.vandm.ca/our-van or see what work we do now at www.RayOutfitted.com Best wishes on your build.

Seems like the most critical part of installing anything that requires a hole in the roof is making sure it’s water tight. After watching the thoroughness of your other work, I was looking foreword to details on how you applied the tape and Sikaflex because most people make a mess of it. Any chance you have video and commentary on that part?

John Clark Hi John! Sorry we missed this question! In some of our recent videos we show some of Raynor's process. I hope this helps! Happy to chat!

Just a suggestion, guys: stick tape onto the surfaces where the jigsaw will be making contact with the body of the vehicle, to prevent smaller scratches.
@VMvanlife7 жыл бұрын
Martin Chamberlain this is a good suggestion, I knew it was going to be covered with the sealant but still a good practice to get into when working with painted surfaces

So Jealous of this heated workspace! Our build space is the street and therefore not much building going on right now haha.
