why 6 gage seams over kill

Hey Mark, thanks for the question. Our motors are rated at 600W on 12V which would equate to 50amps while under power. While 8Ga should be fine in MOST scenarios at that rated load when installed correctly, we have found the 6Ga. braided wire has enough wiggle room in max amperage so that it will never overheat and become compromised from a power spike under excess load. Much like in a house, you would rather your circuit breaker trip than your wire start melting in case of a surge!
