I 2nd this. I actually searched for the reinstallation file and it brought up the update file instead. I had to go to the search bar and type it in exactly like you had it, then I had a drop down menu of 6 different things, clicked on the one that said ps4 reinstallation and it brought me to a page that said manually update ps4, I had to scroll to the bottom and see the ps4 console reinstallation file. If you don't use the reinstallation one and just the update one, you'll get a message that says "file corrupted" or "cannot use file" when you try and install it from safe mode. Took me like 15 mins to figure out there were two separate files to install.

I did this but I bought the smaller SSD to see if this is worth it and if it actually works. I plugged it into my PS4 pro, which had a dying HDD that was giving me input lag and slow downs. It is now faster to load and i love it. I'll be getting the higher priced and do this again.

I actually used a salvaged Kingston SQ500 drive that I pulled from a tossed out PC to fully back up the PS4 Pro HDD, and ultimately opted for a fresh Team Group AX2 512gb SATA3 SSD (currently $20 on Amazon!) as the replacement drive. Mainly because I was unsure of the salvaged SQ500's overall TBW lifespan. Anyway, the overall loading speed and thermal throttle improvements are quite substantial IMO. I may opt later for attempting the full teardown, thermal paste replacement, and cooling fan cleaning, but for now? I'm quite pleased with the results of this upgrade.

Make sure your flashdrive is formatted to FAT32, exFAT was causing the PS4 pro not to recognize the file giving error codes SU-30634-6(Fix is FAT32) then the console recognizes the file. After setup the console will read the flashdrive again as if nothing was wrong😅. Hope this helps lost like 2 hrs on this

@@florider_hd it's almost negligible if you're using boot-up as a benchmark. I used to have a SATA m.2 for boot and switched to a Samsung 970 Evo Plus, which is PCIe Gen 3.0 (or the last gen standard). At best, I gain about a couple seconds vs the SATA when comparing boot up times or game load times. The real difference between the two is during long read/write sessions, where a Gen 3.0 NVMe would at best have 6x the read speed. I also forsee DirectStorage making the difference even more noticeable.

@@kuso4506 did it different n reinstalled the OS, works fine games load a Lil quicker n the OS doesn't freeze up like it used to (ps4 pro btw) n the old HDD works like plugging in any flashdrive for extra storage. make sure to have ps+ for online saves otherwise put them on a thumb drive.

Some games still have loading screens that might pop up not only the first time you load the game, but also when you're switching zones for example, and there's quite a big variety of them - from showing static game artwork images, to animated loading screens, or even interactive ones.

Ok but your A400 has read & write speeds of 500 / 450 mb/s, that's way slower than your A2000 m.2 drive. Maybe Sony will add an m.2 slot on the PS5.

For anyone getting the SU-41350-3, the update file needs to be like this. USB Update Drive -PS4 -UPDATE -PS4UPDATE.PUP I got errors until my folders were setup this way. Hope this helps someone out!
