$400 in 45 min! PROFIT. I know I’m going to catch some heat for how much we charged. But what would you have done?! The quote from local glass company was $600 for the install. Just the labor. We did it for $400. Homeowner was happy and we made good money. Am I in the wrong here? If the door broke during the install, we would be the ones getting a new panel, we take on that responsibility. If it leaks down the road, we come back and fix it.

It is business revenue to cover all fixed costs and variables. Good profit for sure but cheaper for client as well. Most risk was on your end (glass replacement).

I wouldn't choose this design if you don't have a stud at the exact position. There are glasses with a holding arm which can be mounted on a stud. This will be much more stable.

The 6inch curbs are brutal. I like 4 inch curb for much better aesthetics. 4 inch saddle stones can be harder to come by. I guess it depends how you build the framing of the curb.

I'm a remodeling contractor and use Schluter products on all my showers and do mostly curbless showers. But, if the homeowner wants a curb then I prefer to stick with stacked 2x4's- then I know I'll have the ability to screw into wood and not have to depend on expanding anchors which can crack tile. The one thing I would add to this video is I would have ran a thin bead of silicone under the track prior to screwing it down. This will add a bit of strength as well as waterproofing.

Most people who don't live in Arkansas or other bumfuk area update their bathrooms every 10-15 years....Doubtful the curb will be affected in that time especially when the hole is filled with silicone. The instructions say to drill the glass bottom brackets in...should he have ignored those instructions?

And here i am charging well under $100 / hr for a highly skilled job and it took me over a decade to get to that level. I am never hiring a tradie again.. Except for shitty jobs which cause cancer. The work quality is usually fucked unless you DIY. Literally every job I've gotten a tradie for in the last 2 years has had shitty workmanship for which I've had to do some kind of patching up - including a shower screen install. Stop putting out these 'I made XXX in XX minutes' and instead videos like "How to install a shower screen properly so it lasts 20 years"
