l installed a 2nd solar exhaust fan to my shed. These small 4" fans do a great job to push out the hot air that builds up in my shed during the hot days. This is a very easy project and I recommend the solar fans that I bought from Amazon.

For those with no time pls just get a phone holder that is used in a car and make the solar panel holder to safe time. Just UV coat the plastic to ensure longevity.

I just finished assembly of my Costco lifetime plastic 8X12 shed and couldn't believe how much hotter it get compared to my older wood built shed with standard comp. Shingles. The new shed has two 7-1/2" gabble vents which helps but I added 4 screened 5x12" vents around the bottom of the walls hoping to draw in some cooler air, it helped but I placed to digital thermometers in the shed yesterday, one at bench height and one in the rafter area. At high noon it was around a 82 deg. day and the readings inside the shed were 101 on the bench and 114 deg. On the rafter thermometer which was around 10 deg. Cooler than the prior day with no intake air vents at the bottom of the walls. I to was going to come up with a solar panel , temperature switch, and a small 8" 12 volt fan, but all the parts alone would of ran around $250 . I'm glad I ran across your video, I think one or 2 of those fans should help when summer rolls around and brings those 110 deg. days to. Your an awesome dude for posting on KZbin. We need more guys like Rico in our neighborhood. :)

Hi Sasha ..thank you so much for taking the time to send me a question. This kit did not come with any type of mounting brackets, that is why I made one. I guess you could just screw it someplace on your roof if that solves the problem. But I had to make my own brackets. Hope this answers your question. Rico

Hi,I have a shed with no windows only a door but even with the door open theres no air flow inside just hot air all the time. Can I install one of these to push hot air out and one to pull cool air in? Would that work since there no windows? Also what would the difference be bwtween these electric exhaust vents and gable vents that I see majority use in their sheds? Thanks!

Would it okay to have one fan bringing air in and the other sucking air out? I am installing something similar in my chicken coop and wanted to know the best possible set up. Or would it be better for both fans to pull air out?
@ricohernandez2394
@ricohernandez2394 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shady! Thanks for watching and then taking the time to send a question. I think it would be counter productive to pull in hot air only to then vent it out. My shed has soffit vents on both sides that allow outside air to enter the the shed at the lowest point and rise to the highest point , my fans are at the highest point of my shed...thus blowing out and venting hot air at the highest point. If you dont have soffits vents..i would add them to your current structure. Hope this helps... Rico

Has anyone tried adding a switch so they are not running constantly? I wanted to put one/two in my wood work shed for summer, but don't want to vent the warm air in the winter months. Mostly for summer use here in hot Texas. Also ... what about wind/storms effecting the bracket you made? Thoughts appreciated !

I wonder if it would help to have a vent fan pushing air out on the side where the sun is, then have another fan pulling air in on the shady side. Maybe the shaded side fan can be lower towards the ground too.
