The only reason for the tape is to prevent wire damage during installation I'm pretty sure... Doesn't really matter if it degrades over time

How come you don't have some sort of guide rope support to hold the pump ? I see only the black pvc pipe and the 100 ft power cable..

Some of our solar pumps are aluminum housing so they are not as heavy as your typical SS pumps. API's pumps weigh only 9-12 lbs. We do put safety ropes on our Stainless Steel solar pumps however. Yes if you have a sandy/debri filled well. You can replace it or shake the debri loose from the Pre-Filter Kit.

This must be strictly for warm climates , and shallow wells , right? Was this well drilled just for this application? I guess I am missing some information here.......

+pdm1942 Our systems are sold in Northern states also, and can go as deep as 328ft. A typical well situation is normally our product replacing old windmills or other solar pumps, customers typically already have their wells pre-drilled before ordering from us.

Well is 25 feet deep. Hit water at 16 ft.

Usually we try to stay under 120 GPM however we can build a custom pump head/motors to increase flow depending on lift.
