Question regarding the two screws that get removed at 2:03. I just installed using a Scosche HA1561G Dash Kit and it's nearly impossible to put those screws back into it. Is that dash kit somehow supposed to reaccept those screws? I am having my doubts because the plastic doesn't have enough rigidity, compared to the OEM metal frame, to hold in place for the screws to line up.

The parking brake wire must be attached in order to display video content with any touch screen/video screen receiver installation. Due to legal and safety reasons, you cannot view video unless your vehicle's parking brake is engaged. Oh I hate to hear that happened. We don't know if the radio knobs can come off. That wasn't necessary to know when replacing the stock radio. We found that the climate control knobs outer rings pry off helping to separate them for the panel.

How would I go about running a wire through the firewall in this car? It is pretty tight.
@luistiz90534 жыл бұрын
Why did you hook onto the brake ? I don’t get it ? What function does it have ? Is it nesessary?
@crutchfield4 жыл бұрын
Receivers require a connection to the parking brake as a safety features. Certain advanced menus, functions, and video playback will not work unless the Parking brake is engaged. This is necessary, and is a legally mandated, important safety feature.

my music plays good but as soon as I throw the car in drive and accelerate the music cuts off is it because I don't have that parking break wire connected to the wiring harness on the double din ?
@crutchfield5 жыл бұрын
I doubt that your issue is linked to the parking brake wire. That wire only affects video and the ability to see it. That being said, I don't know what would cause your issue. If you purchased the gear from Crutchfield, I recommend calling our technical support for help. If the gear was purchased elsewhere and they cannot help, you might try contacting the manufacturer for help

Do you need to disable the anti-theft radio feature of the honda civic? and Does the pry tool come with the installation kit from the Crutchfield website?
@crutchfield6 жыл бұрын
I've looked through our information on these cars but didn't see any mention of special steps to disable that; not even in our installation instructions. I don't expect that to be necessary. The pry tools are not part of the vehicle specific install gear we list of this vehicle. If you don't have any pry tools, then I highly recommend getting them and our web site is programmed to recommend them for customers who don't already have them. HTH! --Crutchfield

Do I just search for pry tools in the search box on the website? Thanks so much for the quick response.

Curious why you used the brake lead instead of a fuse tap at the panel?
@crutchfield5 жыл бұрын
We connect to the parking brake wire because that's the proper way to install it so that all safety precautions are observed and that there are no legal issues regardless of state you are driving in
@Reliable1102Intel5 жыл бұрын
Crutchfield Thats a rather broad opinionated explanation. Ive used countless technical manuals both in the automotive and aviation industries. Power for any third party device should always be supplied from a fuseable source.

Why you didnt make video on how to replace the rear speakers!
@crutchfield8 жыл бұрын
+Gino Veras Rodriguez There are big differences in the process for removing the rear speakers in these Civics. A video showing one would not have covered all models; not even close. The good news is that we supply our MasterSheets for the vehicle when speakers are ordered from us. The MasterSheet outlines the process for removing those speakers so they can be replaced. For additional assistance & personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYTVc000/ContactUs.aspx I hope that helps. --Crutchfield

Why did you have to tap the brake wire? I understood everything up to that point.
@crutchfield7 жыл бұрын
That step is only a requirement for touchscreen/video receivers in order to prevent video from displaying on the in-dash screen while you drive. Hope that helps, Crutchfield

Do you need the antenna adapter to be able to use a stereo with aux or Bluetooth?

The antenna adapter is required to connect the Honda factory AM/FM antenna to an aftermarket stereo.
