World class re tipping right there. Exceptional blade work. 👌 Do Taom tips come in a size workable on a snooker cue.
@abdiaz666 жыл бұрын
thank you very much for the compliment. Taom tips only are available in standard 14mm, however i can machine them down to fit all cues including snooker.

Would you actually want a jump and break pool tip on a snooker cue?

Nice video. Great job on the Taom.

How do you know how much you are cutting from the tip, from left to right, so that it will not go through the ferrule? Does it have some sort of stopper that you set from the thickness of the ferrule. Hope my question makes sense.

Hi, I am very curious, do you know what RPM that lathe is running at, during the time of this tip install, and do you feel that a certain speed is good while doing tip installs (like not too fast, and not too slow of an RPM)? Do you run the lathe at a certain RPM when cleaning shafts? Thanks for any thoughts about that.

Is that white collet between the chuck and cue tapered on the ID and parallel on the OD? Where can I get one of those? Nice job!
@abdiaz665 жыл бұрын
Michael Albro yes it’s tapered I get these from Joe Porper also the ones atlas billiards sells are great too

Can you use your method of trimming the side of the top with a razor on a leather tip? Are there any particular techniques for this method?
@abdiaz664 жыл бұрын
You can, just make sure you have a lower rpm when using that method on soft tips

I recently acquired a porper q-lathe what tool post would suggest?I've been doing most of my work on an old cue companion and the tool posts are completely different
@abdiaz662 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge any 3/8 tool post should work. The one I use is a stock one from Porper

do you like your Cue Maker from unique or the Q lathe from Proper better?
@abdiaz662 жыл бұрын
I really depends on the job. For tip work I actually prefer the Cuemaker

@garryspeiran43745 жыл бұрын
nice job ! showing how its done is agreat idea. clearing chips on a running lathe is not. stop the lathe or use a brush. f ngers cannot be replaced, tools can.

How long does a Taom tip last on a break or jump cue?
@abdiaz664 жыл бұрын
It’s timeless as long as they don’t break or pop off
@3spressoShot5 ай бұрын
@@abdiaz66and as long as you don’t rub on the felt like Johnny archer or else the taom wears down

What's the hardness level compared to phenolic or G10?
@abdiaz667 жыл бұрын
G10 is the hardest, Samsara tips are very very hard for being just leather
@blainemurphy13517 жыл бұрын
So what's the point of a Taom tip then? For grip and cue ball control?
@abdiaz667 жыл бұрын
it has the power of phenolic and g10 but grips the ball well
@blainemurphy13517 жыл бұрын
Have you tried a Cyborg break tip? If so, good as Taom.
