hello great video. I have a 2021. but before removing the Airbag, shouldn't the power be disconnected? and the airbag depends on the battery pack or the 12v service battery? thank you

When I tried to loosen to bolt, it was stuck tight. No matter how hard I tried to crank it, it would not budge.

Same question here. I've always disconnected the battery before unplugging the the airbag but I'm not sure if it's powered by the 12v or the pack.

@@yazmat96 absolutely but as I recall, this vises don't mention disconnecting the battery and letting it sit fir a bit before messing with the airbag wires. No idea how important that is 🤷‍♂️ but it's a disclaimer I've seen in other steering wheel install videos like the one for my Grant wheel.

@@jackwsandoz I’m agree whit you. It’s really improbable, but by messing whit airbags there is always the risk of an accidental blow up, so is better disconnecting the 12v battery and wait a little bit (to give the time to let discharge the current in the circuit) before messing whit airbags.

Does it matter if loosen the center screw before unplugging the steering wheel control cable? Hving a hard time trying to unscrew it and dunno if the sequence matters

@@TSportline I struggle to unscrew the centre bolt behind the airbag... Till a point the screwhead close to deform... Any suggestion on how please?

@@wingtomino Make sure that your 10mm Allen head socket/wrench/whatever is a quality tool that fits the bolt very well. Use an extended length breaker bar - 24" is not too long. The bolt is VERY tight when original. Seek a professional help before destroying the bolt. It will be VERY difficult and expensive to repair if you proceed as it sounds like you are. Good luck.

The steering wheel doesn't have a factory recommended torque spec. As long as it's bolted tight, you'll be good!

The steering wheel bolt is spec'd to be torqued to 80n/m which is about 59-60 foot pounds

Can you install this on a Tesla model S or a Y that is Plaid addition?

You are right. The car should be powered down (in "safety" on your controls screen in car) and it's best to disconnect the 12 volt battery. Airbags can kill you.

Think Tesla have recommended torque.
