Thanks mate, very informative video. I am about to install a Uniden UH5060 into my D22 which is exactly like yours. My first obstacle was which grommet to run the power wires through. You just saved me a heap of grief by showing which one you tapped into. I have a dual battery system & my auxiliary battery is on the passenger side which makes it much easier. I will follow your method as you have the same vehicle. Cheers

Do you have to loop the power off a ignition wire?

That isn't required. Because I ran the positive and negative directly to the start battery, the unit will always have power regardless if I have the car turned on or off.

Hi mate, I did this a few years back now but it was the cheapest uhf package they had at the time so I’m not sure if they even make this any more. I believe they have replaced by their new xrs units
