Quick question. Where exactly did you ground your rear speakers? UPDATE: I couldn't find a grounding point that didn't have a alternator whine while simultaneously making the speakers get super hot and putting the head unit into shutdown mode. So I just wired the rears into the factory amp bypass harness and ran the wires down the bottom of the door sills and right up to the speakers. Now they sound absolutely fantastic. Rear Speakers: JBL GTO 939's Head unit: JVC KW-V25BT

For the rear speakers in the factory system the reason why you see 2 different sets of wires is that factory system along with speaker has a speaker and woofer in one if you are using mid-bass speakers in the rear you can use red and black but if you want full range audio use that blue wire as your positive and the grey as the negative!!!

Hello about to cut mine and wire, is it a blue and great wire for both the LR and RR?
@robsnizzle7 Жыл бұрын
I bought a component set (6x9 infinity kappa) and used the cross over.... I used the RED/BLACK wires an negated the OTHER 2 WHICH ARE HIGH FREQUENCY.... THE CROSS OVER DOES THE TRICK AND I GET HELLA BASS in the 6x9's and CRISP highs in the tweeters (which are mounted high on the rear side panels. The reason this dudes stereo sounds SUPER HIGH is THE REARS ARE GETTING "NO LOW FREQUENCY".....

I replaced the back speaker in my car only to find out that the Tweeter was bad on each one in the back on the metal plate shaped like a Chipotle rice bowl take a pair of Cutters and cut the little speaker out and make a circle there on the metal plate if you have a wrecked Mustang GT like me I took the two tweeters out of the door screw them over the hole metal plate or bucket that whole piece separates from the speaker itself it can be removed by hand and replaced with glue I drove a little hole through the plastic and ran the new speaker wire through that and reattached it to the rest of the system and it works fine the 6 - 9 speaker was good my car sounds just fine without buying two new rear speakers just replace the 2-in Twitter in that metal bucket on top easier than you think the fabric that was on top of the metal plate I reglued that and put everything back together you can't tell that anything was replaced other than the sound is better here's my advice to you if you like fixing things find two tweeters with screw holes on each side so you can attach them to the metal or like me use duct tape and glue cuz you'll never see it again it's covered up by a speaker cover

Did you have any signal interference? I can’t seem to get that noise to go away while the car is running.
@finallimit47803 жыл бұрын
If youre talking about that hum, its most likely ground/power issue. Sometimes grounded in a specific part of the chassis will cause a hum. But id say to purchase one of those filters that is wired with your power wire/ground wire. It takes out those noisy imperfections. I was going to do the same to mine in the future.
@elduve41122 жыл бұрын
Okay I know it may be a little bit of a non worry but I really don’t want to ground to a bolt. I feel like that would cause a fire.
@robsnizzle73 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you sound checked your rears but your not getting the FULL RANGE coming from your 6x9's this is due to the stock lexus speakers being an actual component unit which is why the rear plug is a 4 prong black/red (lows) the other two are wired to your highs (tweeters) I know for a fact because I bought 2 way 6x9's for my 05 and didn't get the full range, talked to a stereo installer and you have to bypass the STOCK AMP to get the full range for those type of speakers you've installed "OR" as I did I purchased an ACTUAL COMPONENET SET to get the full range. So my 6x9 woofer went to stock location, and the tweeter i installed into my rear doors.... sounds better anyways.

@@robsnizzle7if I’m stock amp what setup should I go with component speaker for just the rear or do all speakers need to be component?
@robsnizzle7 Жыл бұрын
The fronts are already set up in a COMPONENT configuration, if you ACTUALLY LOOK AT the REAR SPEAKERS they're SEPERATE UNITS. THAT'S WHY THERES 4 WIRES. I BOUGHT THE "INIFNITY KAPPA" series ($165 I believe) component set used the "BLACK N RED" wires to THE CROSS-OVER PROVIDED with the speaker set. I kept the STOCK CAR AMP TOO... I'm also running an after market deck.... which you'll need the TYTO1 (I BELIEVE that's correct) unit.

@mrpaiute90133 жыл бұрын
Did you use the screws that came with the plate, or the screws that came with the speakers? The screws supplied with the plate adapters are ideal and are flush to the bottom of the plate adapters

I cut the wiring harness and brought the whole harness into my room so i can wire things up. I then wired the positive side of the speaker to the Red wire (or whatever wire on your harness that gets voltage as your radio is on). Lastly, i wired the negative side of the speaker to my metal rear deck for my ground (has to be bare metal). My speakers didnt work either when i first tried them on, but eventually after messing around with power and ground, it worked. Keep me updated!

@mrpaiute90133 жыл бұрын
Geez, I've only seen the front door harness, not the rear. Like the guy in video, I ended up using existing plug, you only need the red wire, the harness doesn't offer a ground, which is probably why the rear aftermarket harness isn't marketed

Possibly connection issues near the amp? Either from the radio to the amp may have wiring issues or the amp to all the speakers may have wiring issues. Maybe see if radio is even sending signals? Unless youve bypassed the amp like i did. My set up is from the head unit straight to the speakers. No amp at all for me.
