@@TSTindustries Hey sorry for the late reply. As I recall, it went on without issue. Just as simple as you show in the video. I took my time and was careful with each step. Increasingly few things in life are this way but you guys did your homework. Been scooting around for a little while now and I really dig these lights. They work well (so far) and really clean up the look of the bike

Very informative video I was all in until I have to cut the tail light connecter off the old tail light. Why doesn’t it come with the connector already on it for the license plate light?

You actually do not have to cut the connector off. That is a suggestion for those that want to retain that particular connection type. Our license plate light comes with the posi tap connectors that are used to connect your license plate light right into any wires agnostic to OE connector housing. You cactuall can connect right into the black and blue wires on the tail light if you want to keep your bike side harness pristine. To answer your question why we do not put OEM style connectors on our license plate light I will have to go into detail of logistics of taking that approach. Some of the components that we manufacture need to stay universal. We offer this license plate light for a vast array of motorcycles, and also other vehicles. We would have to have about a hundred different license plate light SKUs that each sell at different rates. It is impractical for a business to endure this when most end users are already ok with installing with our provided means. From time to time somebody turns up that absolutely has to have an OE connector to go with this kit, and if they ask our customer service guys, most often we can accommodate by supplying a connector and terminals (for those vehicles that we stock connectors for).

@@genewuchner9004 I understand. When I build harnesses on race bikes they get the mission-critical treatment and all connectors are proper, insulated or sealed, with strain relief. In manufacturing we have to contend with certain pressures that sometimes require a compromise. Such is the case in universalizing our license plate light.

@@genewuchner9004 they don't have the connectors. They typically come to me for them in the R&D stash, or ask the assembly peeps. I have to review the footage to remind myself what connector this bike uses for lplt

That happens on this bike, kawasaki ninja250r, zx7r, and a few others. Not a very complicated explanation to a person who understands how current flow works, but otherwise a tricky thing to explain concisely. We do have a video that delves a bit more into that phenomenon and shows the installation of our fix for it.

Id like to do a full led signal conversion on my dr650 not exactly sure what id need besides the signals the plug and play diode and relay. Is the any other connectors i would need? Besides those things?

Are you wanting just replacement signal lamps with LED light sources, or the integrated tail light along with the signal lamps? I think discussing this topic with our customer service guys through our website will get you your answers quicker.

You can buy from one of their Canadian dealers. That's what I did as shipping from TST was over $100USD. Great product though 👍
