@3:14 you only copy its static IP address -192.168.0.254 as its dns server instead of putting gateway address 192.168.0.1 or using dns server provided by ISP & causing No Internet Connection, do Domain controller servers not required to access the internet?, kindly answer pls. just a newbie here.

Domain controllers (DCs) are primarily used for managing and authenticating users within a network. They don’t necessarily need direct internet access to perform their core functions. However, there are some considerations: DNS Configuration: If your DC is also acting as a DNS server, it needs to resolve both internal and external DNS queries. By setting the DC’s IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.254) as the DNS server, you’re ensuring it can resolve internal domain names. However, for external DNS queries, the DC should forward these requests to an external DNS server (like the one provided by your ISP) or use a public DNS server (e.g., Google’s 8.8.8.8). Internet Access: While DCs don’t need internet access for basic operations, they might need it for: Windows Updates: Keeping the server updated with the latest security patches. External DNS Resolution: If the DC is the primary DNS server, it needs to forward external DNS queries to an external DNS server. Remote Management: If you manage the DC remotely, it might need internet access for certain tools and services. Security Considerations: It’s generally recommended to limit internet access on DCs to reduce the attack surface. You can achieve this by configuring firewall rules and using a proxy server for necessary internet access. In your case, if you’re experiencing “No Internet Connection” issues, ensure that: The DC’s DNS server settings include a forwarder to an external DNS server. The default gateway is correctly set to 192. 168.0. 1 (your router).

for the dhcp server sir may I ask what if the network address you provided will be full, what possible solution to take? thanks for sharing youre videos

If the DHCP server's network address pool is full, here are a few potential solutions: 1. Increase the Pool Size: If possible, expand the DHCP scope to include more IP addresses. 2. Subnetting: Subdivide your network into smaller segments, allowing you to allocate more IP addresses. 3. Address Reclamation: Check for and remove any unused or inactive leases to free up IP addresses. 4. Reduce Lease Time: Shorten the lease duration so IP addresses are recycled faster. 5. Implement a Second DHCP Server: Add another DHCP server on a different subnet.

Hi sir, I would like to ask for the client's computer to set the network to static before joining to the domain on the server side or just keep it Dynamically? Thank you!
@MikzMedina2 ай бұрын
If The server and laptop is in the same network you don’t need to make static ip
@techkh732 ай бұрын
@@MikzMedina, when I set the client computer to a static network, it works fine, but changing the network to dynamic doesn't work. Both client and server have the same default gateway.
