Since you seem to to start covering up the basic server roles that a small-medium organization would need, it would be a good point to mention about the h/w specs (logical cpu cores and ram (maybe storage too-at least sql needs a lot of talk about each of it's paths)) of the machines accommodating those services (like what kind of services the DC should have-how many DCs are enough, what would be the ideal setup of number of servers and what each should service to the clients).

Leaving it where the rdweb is broken is not installing rds. Rdweb is part of it. What is the cause of ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE?

You end the video where I need it to start. I installed RDS, it appears to be working. (users can log into the remote desktop) BUT . . . the Server Manager will not show me the details of the deployment. I don't see my collection, (one server) and can't see who is logged into the session host.

Im having a problem setting RDS on a Windows Server 2019. Every time I try add the service it gives me an error when installing “ Unable to Install RD Connection Broker Role Service on server (server name)”. I’ve tried uninstalling WID and renaming the root WID folder to WID_old and still nothing. Any suggestions?

After hours of research it looks like Microsoft disabled this service for server 2019 and is recommending to use Desktop Experience instead. Anyone trying to setup on 2019 it will not work. Amazing tutorials! Thanks for all the help

So do you, 'infosec pat", always recommend disabling the firewall rather than opening just the ports needed for the roles?

Yeah, for testing and lab purposes I disable it all the time to prevent any problems.

most of my servers have firewalls entirely disabled because I am too busy to worry about silly ports.

Disable TSL 1.3 in IIS > Default site > Edit > Binding > In the Edit Site Binding dialog, select Disable TLS 1.3 over TCP. Click OK to close the Edit Site Binding dialog. Click Close to close the Site Bindings dialog.
