Hi there, you can connect the panel with the power outlet via power adapter directly, or take off the panel to charge by holding the dismantle button to remove it from the mounting base.

You really need to find a better way to charge the battery. Do you really think that an elderly should be able to remove the whole unit and cable and then put it all back again? And use a cable to the door is not very easy either. My nearest outlet is at least 5 meters away from the door. Too much work! Back to the drawing board and make it much easier to charge it!

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. Just to clarify, you don't have to take the DP2C off in order to charge it, it's optional. You may plug in the power adapter and use an cable extension to charge the device, and the battery life usually lasts for about 3 months.

I think the idea is that it’s ‘simple’ and replaces a peephole viewer. It IS wire free, but you need to be holding a phone. They wanted it so that you look at the screen from behind the door in the exact same way you would have used the peep hole.
