No they're NOT awesome and here's why.. LABS is buggy and try uninstalling it. Not only does it not uninstall but after using an app to FORCE uninstall it has messed with some of my other plugins and still shows up in my DAW even though I can no longer use it. In short anyone thinking they've had a result soon realise they've been ripped off. I'm fuming.

I have a question, what should I do if when I'm scrolling on the Labs interface through the instruments and it glitches? yeah im having a problem. i downloaded the "tape piano" library/lab and can't use it. i have my keyboard set up, ready to go. the app is open, but when i click on the installed "tape piano" library, it takes me to a new screen with what appears to be the picture on the icon, and nothing else. i can scroll down, but there's nothing below it. i dont know if im doing something wrong or if its just that library/lab, but its really annoying. this video does not give a detailed enough tutorial of how to open and set up the libraries. please help!

Hello how can I modify the ADSR of an instrument on LABS, I can't seem to find the knob/control on the LABS Screen. I use LABS with Bitwig and even if I modify the values on the Bitwig interface the ADSR values on LABS is always the same.

Does anyone know why the audio from spitfire isn't playing for me? I am using cakewalk as a daw and I've just downloaded the soft piano from spitfire. I was able to place notes down and it makes a sound, however when I click play to hear it back no audio comes out. Edit: Nevermind I have discovered that when you loop something it doesn't play the first go around.

Hi! Thanks for the video. I have a smaller midi controller (Arturia Keystep 37) with limited number of keys. Sometimes I cannot reach some keys in order to obtain the sound associated to this key (example: a percussion set where each key correspond to one different sound). How can I solve this? I'm not familiar with the keystep but you should have octave range buttons or a CC# to switch octave ranges that you can map for your controller. the other option would be a larger generic keyboard with midi out that you can set up as a second Midi Input. for example I have a NI M32 for a small controller, and more synth action keys. and also use a roland fp30 for a full size 88 hammer weighted option both send midi to my DAW :) hope this helps.

I'm on an up to date mac version of fl studio with an up to date mac system, I have downloaded the LABS Soft Piano and selected many spitfire audio file and folder destinations in my plugin settings within fl studio, but every time I open the LABS plugin it just comes up with an error 1 note. Hi James, this is a known issue with the App they we are currently working on to amend. You should still be able to access LABS in any DAW that does not use AAX Plugin format. If you have any further issues, or need the AAX version, please contact support at spitfireaudio.com/support

Hi! I downloaded several of your labs libraries. What i don't understand is how or where in the plugin can i choose between different libraries. It's "stuck" (or showing) only the amplified cello quartet, and i don't see any drop down menu or browser of some sort

Hey there! I’ve used Spitfire Labs for my drum midi for a while, but yesterday when I went onto Pro Tools, every time I created an instrument track and began to lay down tracks via my midi keyboard or in the midi editor, Pro Tools would immediately shut down. This does not happen with any other instrument plugin (ie Addictive Keys, XPand Etc). Does anybody know how to remedy this?

I'm thankful for this video because I was getting frustrated trying to figure it out the LABS player on my own. A shiny, minimalist aesthetic does not an intuitive UI make! I hope the next version includes some kind of inbuilt help system à la Valhalla DSP or FabFilter. At very least it must have mouseover tooltips for the hieroglyphs! Also, the whole _circular-mouse-motion-on-circular-UI-elements_ motif fell out of favor about 20 years ago. Linear motion only, please! If that means moving the big, functionally ambiguous button out from the middle of the pretty circle of dots then so be it. It's _form follows function,_ not _form follows fashion._ Ergonomics first, folks! Otherwise Labs is a great resource and thank you very much.

Hi Ben, Several troubleshooting points to try here: - Make sure you have Quit and Reopened Logic since you installed LABS. Logic only scans for new plugins/ sample libraries when it is opening. - Try manually rescanning for plugins (Preferences > Plugin Manager > Spitfire Audio (bottom left corner). Hit Reset and Rescan. - Check the plugins has installed on your Mac... it should be located in Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plugins > Components. If it is not in that location, try Repairing All LABS: spitfireaudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011110118-How-to-Repair-All-LABS-Libraries If none of the above works, contact us at www.spitfireaudio.com/support and we'll get you up and running!

Hi, there is an octave that i can't reach with my keyboard as a midi using the bass of spitfire program, how can i adjust that? (sorry if im not clear, my english isn't too good) I've already try with the button that is beside the keyboard of the program but doesn't work. Hi Leonardo, The LABS plugin only accepts MIDI data and can be used with most DAWs, and some Notational software (although the latter is not recommended).

How have you written the sheet music? If you have done it digitally you can usually export as MIDI. You'd then need to use a DAW to host this plugin and playback you sheet music

I would check the following: 1. You closed and reopened your DAW session so the updated plugin could be rescanned. 2. You installed the libraries to the same LABS directory. A little late but I was able to do it by first installing in the recommended folder and then installing again into Ableton's VST3 folder. It says error #4 in-app but it seems to work just fine.

Hi, I noticed how over the years the Spitfire instruments (mainly LABS) disappeared out of my sight. One reason is the incomprehensible interface. Every time I opened the VST I thought: OMG what were these sliders and knob for again? Cryptic symbols, like a Mayan calendar. Recently I saw Crow Hill uses the same system. Today, after three years I discovered you can click on the center of the knob. How should one know? I can understand there are some stylish considerations to make it this way, and I can respect that. But for non-daily users it would be handy when there was some setting that made the meaning of the knobs appear in a status bar, or over the symbols. I also don't understand why the reverb setting is shown in the upper bar but the filter value isn't. Spitfire Audio has my deepest sympathy, but the design makes every use of the interface start with discouraging confusion. I thought, it's time I'd give this feedback. Kind regards. 😉

Hello. Excuse my ignorance, but all I get is a ".lm" file. This seems to work in Logic Pro, judging from your video. But I am using Pro Tools, and there is no sign of any Spitfire plugin. Do Spitfire plugins work on Pro Tools, and if so what is an ".lm" file? Thanks Greg

CC11 or Expressions, will control the overall volume of the library. Whilst CC1 or Dynamics, controls which Dynamic layer within the library is active- or in some instances, controls a Low Pass Filter.

hi spitfire i tried it now again, but always when i drag Labs into my channel rack its just a sampler… if you know whats the problem pls help

so all the sample cannot be used in ableton live ?

You can use the sample content via the plugin. If you wish to use the individual wav files, you should export the MIDI as an audio file before reimporting into your session.

Hi, have you made sure to enable AU Instruments in Garageband Preferences? If so, and the plugin does not appear, make sure you are using the latest version of Garageband which is 64bit. Note that every LABS library appears in the same Spitfire Audio LABS Plugin.
