That Sam is a real live wirer, for sure! Now that the system is all said and done, and up and running for a while now, are they happy with how it's working and is it giving them enough power? Another great vid, BTW!!
@MobileDwellings2 жыл бұрын
HAHA! We actually added two more panels right before they hit the road bringing the system up to 3200 watts. It's an absolute beast, more than they need.

As always Justin your work is awesome. I ended up going with a 48 volt system on mine. It worked out to be alot cheaper. Using server rack batteries.

Thanks! That's a really smart move. Glad you found some great repurposed batteries.

Thanks for the vid. What kind of solar panels are these? Mono poly?
@Christian-dq6tz2 жыл бұрын
Great Video! The maximum your solar panels producing is 6400 Watt? By the way great job....

So wait you're telling me you can do both series and parallel within the same system? how is that possible? thank you
@MobileDwellings2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can put two panels in series and then put them in parallel with another set of 2 panels. The advantage is that you can increase the voltage and use a smaller wire size and you can have some panels shaded while not affecting the performance of other panels.

where did you get those rails for panels?

So this bus doesn’t durn fuel or use it ?

Hey Justin, I’m getting ready to install that track on my skoolie roof, but how did you handle the angles of the roof line with the L brackets?
@MobileDwellings2 жыл бұрын
They can be at a very slight angle but basically you need to put them right where your roof starts to go from flat to curved.
@afaithfilledlife2 жыл бұрын
@@MobileDwellings thank you! I don’t think I can. My roof (Thomas Bus) is fairly curved all around and the mounting holes on my solar panels are about 51” apart, so that’s where the track has to go. Thanks for taking the time to respond! Always love watching your videos.

Hi what are the exact panels you used here?
@MobileDwellings7 ай бұрын
There's no need to get these exact panels in fact they don't even make them anymore. Signaturesolar.com is where I get my panels now. They're crazy cheap and you can get $50 off with the code JUICEBOX. Id buy the cheapest panels that are close to 400 watts each.
@makoshark402 жыл бұрын
dont know how fragile those panels are electronically but hope that spark didn't crack one or more those crystals. tho you'd only lose .5% effiency at most id assume if it only poped 2-5 no biggie you got thousands more
@candicebryant58092 жыл бұрын
So did you paint the roof? Or is that not necessary?
@MobileDwellings2 жыл бұрын
We did paint the roof. If your roof is white and in good condition maybe not necessary. If it's not white and you're going to be in hot climates I would absolutely paint it.

Well This looks like fun " not" lol. I would like to put Solar on my Bus some time, only I want something Simple, and a but lower cost. My Bus is not a FULL Build RV build. Its just like a Cabin in the woods. I wanted to Keep it Simple, so that being Said ANYONE know of a Simple Solar System I might look into? Less Than $1000.00 if Possible.. Yea I know..
@MobileDwellings2 жыл бұрын
Well if you're not doing any cooking, heating, AC, or water heating with electricity you could do a lot with an all in one solar generator like this one which comes with two 100 watt panels. Still a little over your budget though but hey you can just buy it and use it: www.jackery.com/products/jackery-explorer-1000-2-x-solarsaga-100w-solar-generator?aff=299
