If we are talking about an SD card with an operating system, then it is impossible to make a copy. It's easier to install the operating system from scratch. If we are talking about an SD card with games, then simple copying solves this problem.

*SOLUTION FOR BLACK SCREEN * Once you’ve done, get your R36s original SD card and copy all the files from BOOT to the BOOT folder on the new SD card you just flash like the tutorial. It might sound ridiculous, but 100% worked for me.

Hi - I have added the dmg file to a new SD card - I then got the black screen so copied all the files from the original boot directory onto the new card. At first looked liked that had worked as it fired up the ARKOS screen and then went to the screen where it displays arks 2.0 but then nothing happens just have a cursor. any ideas?.

you just need to copy the files that are on the default SD card on the boot disk to exactly the same place (on the boot disk) on the new SD card

Try removing the SD card with roms and rebooting the console. Format it and re-insert and switch cards in the options. If it doesn’t help, then reinstall arkos.

Amazing tutorial, works like a charm! My only issue is that when the ArkOS is installed my Mac shows that the card has 788.5MB left in BOOT, whenever I am trying to copy the new games it throws that the file is too big, like it hides the remaining 248GB and makes it invisible. Did exactly as you advised, but get this issue still. What’s the issue? It’s Samsung Evo SD card.

I had the same thing happen that others have - my screen is black with four white bars and scrambled text. Tried multiple SD cards from different brands and that were different sizes. Nothing works. The original cards with the shipped software bring up the same black screen with white bars as well.

On the main screen, click the Start button - UI Settings - Visible systems. Check the box next to the options. But I advise you to buy new SD cards and be sure to reinstall the operating system on the new SD card, as in this video. I work in the field of music / music production & and lifelong Mac user. I have only recently entertained getting into playing games again because of the dire downturn in work since Covid, especially in the past year. The last time I played was when I had a PS1, which I loved but decided to Pay It Forward along with all the games to help with my ADHD. In the past few months since returning to dabble with playing games, I’ve been SHOCKED at the greed of game sellers. Further to that, the ‘gaming’ KZbinrs & moderators in reddit etc make the weird assumption that anyone wanting to play a game, must or should only use Windows. It’s been beyond frustrating if you just want to play a decent game occasionally for the joy of it. I’m going to give this a shot tonight. I know that you are not technically a gaming channel but I really think that if you occasionally do something like this for Mac users with PC heavy arts, you will gain a following from others like myself- tech savvy creatives looking for some fun side things they can do. I experienced the same with situation when I was attempting to transfer a lifetime of family memories from analogue video to digital. That mainly Windows community is close to abusive to people with Mac’s. Thanks again!
