Ill put a little lube on the adjustable feet so they turn easier.. I fought that with my old DW.. Nice video, Ill watch it when my new DW gets delivered.

Bosch recommends installing the junction box in a side cabinet not directly behind the dishwasher.

Suggest you turn on water to check for leaks PRIOR to pushing dishwasher in place.

I saw a video from Bosch that recommended using Auto for best results. So I just use Auto on the wash option, and if you have the 500 I also enable Auto Air which allows the door to pop open to vent after it finishes running.

If you research that hardwire junction box kit that you have used you will find several occasions were the wiring and terminals have melted inside that box. Best to add single receptacle and use the supplied plug. My two cents…

Thanks for sharing. I looked into it a bit, and it sounds like a poor design on Bosch’s end, but from what I found the best way to prevent if you did use this junction box is to ensure the connection is very tight on those screws.

@@skylermccrary Personally I don’t feel comfortable using their hardwire kit. I will just add a receptacle and use their supplied plug. I would monitor that junction box, again my two cents.

Thanks for sharing, I will keep an eye on it. I would even consider switching to the supplied power cable based on your warning and the pics I saw online, but I threw it away already -_-

@@skylermccraryBosch also notes that the junction box is not to be secured directly behind the dishwasher. Their installation guide notes it is to be off to the side. Obviously, if you didn’t have room for it elsewhere, you didn’t have room.

Junction box, receptacle, and cover plate is quick, easy, and cheap. Installed a box with a GFCI for safety.

Hi, thanks for this! Question, I only have two wires coming out of the back wall and I see the adaptor box has 3 inserts. I only have a red and a white wire. Wondering what I need to do to make it work. Thank you!

You don’t need tape,there’s an O-ring in there that you might damage if you tighten it too tight though,a Common mistake

you aint lyin about that 3/4 hose adapter being finicky. took me a dozen tries before it seated right. thought for sure I was going to muck up the threads. why can't manufacturers leave connections alone? Or at the very least put a brass thread connection on the back instead of plastic. I don't know what I would done if I ruined the connection in the back, doesn't look replaceable.

yes, such a bad design. You can make your whole machine unusable because of these super easy to strip threads. Very easy fail point during install.

You only use Teflon tape on NPT threads, no reason to use it where you did.

I have this dishwasher but don’t get fooled. I had a $550 repair that Bosch would not pay even though it was in warranty. We are finished with the Bosch Company.

Hey one question.. do we keep that insulation or foam kind of cover which is blueish color in yours on the back and side of dishwasher . Mine came with same but in greenish color so i was thinking to remove it

Yes leave it in place. It is there to insulate the noise and keep it quiet. If you remove it your dishwasher will be louder while washing.

I guess that junction box is something new? did it come with the dishwasher or was that a special order, they must realized to have to put an outlet could be a problem,

It comes with a regular outlet out of the box, but when purchasing they ask if you want to buy the optional junction box. I opted for it because my house already had the electric line ran to the dishwasher and a dedicated breaker for it that I didn’t want to leave unused. So you can do either way with these models.

How’d you resolve the cross thread issue on the water supply connection on the back of the dishwasher?

Tilt it up almost on its face (have someone hold it on the other side). Once it was tipped up and I could get a near straight down angle on it, I was able to get it straight on.

Someone usaedthe junction box Guess what happened catch fire and I just connecting the old fashion way with wire nuts you don’t need the junction box. That’s my personal experience. Make sure all screws are tight if you going to use the junction box.
