I bought a low mileage 02 z06 about a month ago. I've been debating between the C6 and the MGW shifter. I did the antivenom mod and used one shim along with Mobil 1 ATF. The trans shifts really nice now. After watching your video I'm going to be buying the C6 shifter.

I would go with MGW hands down I did this with the venom mod and I can't wait to get the MGW 3-4 week wait currently on the shifter.

@@moe4772 one shim will be ok 2 is best one is for if you are unsure really. Try one then 2 . I did 2 right away and love it.

Looks 10x better, and I bet it does feel that much better also. I’m a big fan of the stock c6 shift knob. It just feels perfect in your hand. Need to get thing out more man!

Man I love the way that Vette looks. Hey have thought about doing a power antenna instead of the one that’s on there? I recently put a powered antenna from a trans am on my 97 Camaro. Looks so much better and way more convenient when putting a car cover on.

Hey Travis, while watching this video, i was looking closely at the shifter rods. Does the stick screw or bolt onto the shifter mechanism. Why i ask is, i did a short stick exchange on my 2000TA and it eliminated the factory mushy bushing in the shifter stick. Now it shiftes solid and the throws are short. And it looks like the vette has that same bushing in their sticks.

It's the same, there's only one shifter that eliminates the bushing for the shifter and you have to change the shifter box, it all comes in a kit

love that white, if you were gonna keep it i would suggest mgw shifter. that pin in front of the shifter is to recenter/ neutral the shifter lower box to the linkage.

Yes the stock shifter sucks. When I bought my c5z I was trying to be responsible and not order a mgw shifter until I atleast tried the stock shifter. Literally the second my hand touched the shifter I thought "oh I'm changing you" ordered the mgw that night.

If you're planning to keep it for a while, put in new seats, double din deck and a stearing wheel. It might not give you more power but damn everytime you get into the car you'll appreciate more

The shifter itself is like 99% same trash as stock C5 one is. You can get a any style shift knob you want in C5 without changing the shifter and if you do decide to swap it go for MGW.
