How To: INSTALL C7 Corvette Z06 Carbon Fiber FRONT SPLITTER! (DIY)

Today we add some more Carbon Fiber to my 2017 C7 Corvette Z06 showing you how to install the stage 2/3 carbon fiber front splitter, DIY, as I did run into something frustrating and annoying, I will be following up on this in the next video, Stay Tuned!

Cool video, man. As far as the screws go that's definitely weird. When I installed my factory stage 3 front canards/winglets they were T10 Torx head bolts on both sides.

I’m sitting at the dealer right now and they are having a horrible time adding the stage 3 winglets. The part is directly ordered from GM and I am at the Chevy dealer. They basically have to almost force it in place. In my opinion is had been poorly designed on GM’s part not easy to instal at all. I hope this comment helps future C7 owners. I looked up your video because we were having issues here at the dealer. Great video and thanks for shearing!!!!!

The dealership usually puts on the splitter and side skirts, hacks with all those different screws! Looks really cool Eric. Every time I have to work on and touch any body panel on a C7 it creaks and squeaks. Makes me wonder? haha Take care -Glen

Great video Erik. The side winglets are definitely the way to go to finish off the look. Too bad they're not CF to match the splitter. Maybe you could wrap them? Who did you purchase the front splitter from? Have you thought of possibly trying to locate where you could buy canards for the front bumper. I think the C7R has two on each side. It would definitely give your ZO6 a one-off look. The C6R has two on each side and I'd love to have them for my C6, but I've not been able to find anyone that makes them. Save the Wave.

The front splitters are installed at the dealer and do come with hardware....but the dealer techs seem to use what they have on hand at the time.

Mine was put on with 7mm in one row and a row of rivets all the way across. Had trouble with the wheel well trim fitting to the spoiler. The tab on the bottom kept the spoiler from fitting flush to the body.

Itd be cool if the company that sells the splitter actually would also include bolts to avoid that if its more than 1 vette that is like that. But next time just waltz over to home depot and buy all the same sizes that you need i would say to avoid all that weirdness. You could also hydro dip the winglets into carbon fiber, thatd be my suggestion. But love the rotors on that vette and the color is 😍. Goals af!

Great video. This is what I have been looking for. How long did this take you and did you need any special tools? I believe they make aftermarket side winglets that have the carbon fiber look to match the more aggressive front splitter.

thanks so much! it was actually quite frustrating as I expressed, with the amount of different screws. I wouldn't say special tools are needs just have some bits for your screw driver/socket wrench and some patience, will take a little while but totally worth it! thanks for stopping by, be sure to subscribe for more content!

With all the different screw sizes I would say the factory ran out of the standard size screws!!

Did you have a GM Skidplate on your Z06? Did you have to overlay the new splitter on top of the skidplate? See GM Part # 23360460. Your Z06 looks awesome with the new Stage 3 splitter!!

just took out existing hardware, removed and installed new front splitter, no interference with skid plate or anything else, thanks for watching, the z06 will be coming out of hibernation very soon!

the hole were not drilled in mine so the dealership didn't put the top screws in, big mistake because the splitter came loose.

Agree the different screws were done post production. The odds of some factory guy installing different screws is extremely small. His work station is outfitted with just what is used, not random other screws. Your finished product is awesome!

Jonathan Hill I got mine from GM I know you are writing to him but just know it was hard in mine to put in the end caps. Mine is a 2019 also. I have heard other people have an easy time. I think they just put those holes in however never thinking they’d be used for aero

I just got a 19 grand sport and it looks like I don’t have mix up of bolts but I do have 1 set if bolts and one set of rivets. Did you have any rivets?

The aero is put on buy your dealer and does not come on the car from the factory! I would go to the dealer who sold you the car new and show the service manager what a crap job his tech did... Poor workmanship at its best by an over paid tech who isn't worthy enough to even change oil….

I saw you drilling into the new carbon fiber splitter. What drill sizes did you use. You blew through too many steps that you should have slowed down and explained things

you probably wouldn't have to do the drilling I had to do as whoever put my OEM front lip on put whatever screws and bolts they had laying around, it was ridiculous
