Easiest video I've watched thus far. No heating tools or water. I will be using this method this weekend installing cove base in my salon!

Thank you. Well done. After watching this I was able to contract a pretty good job at a retail store that suffered water damage and make a few days of good pay. I am grateful because I am disabled /disengaged from my previous career in the automotive field.

This is not a complete video. Even though it's titled 'installing" cove base, he should have shown how to prep the walls and the final result of his work. Get off his dick this is in no means a good video I hardly learned shit from it besides shaving the back side of the base and even that is a standard practice so like..... Yea

Great video! My hubby put together a grooming room for me (drywall, etc.,) and asked me to put on the cove base, only tell me to 1) probably cut a piece out when I do a corner and 2), don't screw up as he only has 1 foot of possible excess base. LOL, this was the first video I came to and although there aren't close-ups, I know what 90 degrees is as well as knowing not to shave through the corner when thinning. Thanks!

Excellent video... simple & to the point. Thanks. I esp. like the 'have fun" part too... as most of our lives are spent working so we might as well enjoy it. I like the trades & being hands on even when learning something new like this.

Why is the new area not clean/clear - doesn't this make it hard for the material to bond?

Here's a tip instead of butting the factory edge with the wall, from about 1ft of the factory edge take a scrap piece with a factory edge and align the top and bottom and of the material you are using with the 1 ft mark you scribe gently on the reverse side of the rubber base, now you can simply bend where your scribe cut it and slightly bend the material giving you a clean corner not only looks nice but also give your corners a perfect seal everytime I've seen guys like you who have been doing flooring for 30+years and everyone of them does it the way you do well I'm 26 and been an installer since the was 19 and I can say that the way you are teaching is a hack job

worst cove base ive ever put down was on an old building with wood paneling on the bottom half of drywall someone before us used gobs of carpet glue or something to fix holes at the bottom of the drywall from previous water damage and man was it a pain someone of the drywall had moisture still and i guess the cove base glue bonded to that other stuff. It was a nightmare i had to put all my weight on it while trying not to splinter the paneling. after that i realized cove base doesnt pay enough.

I have to agree with DonnieottTV. I'm a union Floorlayer and that had to be the worst install I've ever seen...lol. I've been installing floors for almost 9 yrs and I can run on average a 1, 000 feet of cove base in a 8 hour day. So, I know what I'm talking about. First, NEVER use a carpet knife...lol. Second, I would use dividers only like Donnie said, if the wall is out of square. If its not out, I would just score the back, cut a triangle out of the toe and flip it in in one piece. Honestly, I would erase the video. You make yourself look dumb.

Good for homeowners but not the way a professional should do. First of all you should never start a piece of cove base at the corner no seams in the corners. You kind of did the outside corner right but I guarantee you it was not tight. And then on the following inside corner it looks like you put a slit at the top of the base that’s another no no then you free handed instead of using a square to make a nice crisp corner with a sloppy cut in the toe. You would be learning how to install base the correct way if you worked for me.

So I show up to a new job and do a few things here and there first week many asked me if I can install baseboard like you're doing I said sure but he doesn't want me to buy anything he wants me to use what he has which is a can of 77 adhesive and a can of 78 adhesive which of those who don't know what it is it's for installing styrofoam on surfaces this is the kind of a guy good if he tells you to do something that way he's not going to listen to anything you have to say so I do it it's only 60 degrees inside and the outside walls I'm installing it on are cold it takes me about three hours I'm putting it back up again and again trying to get it to stick and he shows up after 4 hours and asked if I'm going to milk this job all day. I think I'm going to be looking for a new job not necessarily a new job but a new boss

Your cameraman need to get up close when you’re trying to show how to do an outside cat. You’re using a razor blade and a very fine thin piece of cove base. If you’re trying to help people, you aren’t! Get someone that can get close-ups of what you’re doing so your person watching can see what the heck you’re doing.
