How to INSTALL ELECTRIC WINDOWS in your Ford Transit Connect Van!

My new ford transit connect van has no electric windows, so I’m upgrading them! It’s a huge convenience. The install was straightforward too! I'm Matt and this is my channel - The Atypical Workshop. Is this the same for LHD transit connects?

How so? Are you asking if the installation process is the same? I would imagine yes. Bear in mind that the wiring may or may not be a reversal of a RHD, you’ll have to check! Switches will be opposite because drivers side has 2 switches, passenger side one

Did your by chance already have the window switch or did you have to change the harness out to be able to add the power window option. I ask only because I swapped out my doors already and my power mirrors work but the power windows will not because the center console does not have the wire harness.

Thank you for your video, gave some inspiration, so much so, i bought a genuine set off ebay, followed your instructions and everything fitted, took me ages to get it to work because i didnt out a fuse in 56 or 57 i think, soon as i did that, perfect. Things i woukd have done differently doing it again, save metal clips from behind actual switch, connect plug from loom through the door first, i had everything set up but plug doesnt fit through door, plug first, wires through door. But again, without your video, i woukdnt have even tried it so thank you 👏👏👏

@@AtypicalWorkshop Hi mate, it's my works van and I own the business, I tried to upload a photo on here but I can't, bought totally standard, last 18 months, recon engine, Mondeo st wheels, bull bar, spotlights, din radio with reverse camera, colour coded bumper and wheel arches, side skirts ,arm rest etc, and now my favourite electric windows 😁

I had to put the correct fuse in fuse box behind the passenger glovebox, yes

Fitted mine today . All you need is both looms an switches and a 25amp fuse . Plug an play job done

@@AtypicalWorkshop haha was that u 😂 . My mate was breaking his 2011 so i got them off him . The door cars are a darker grey so im goin to make a stencil an make the switches fit my cards

@@djdanfetish1 are you gonna put electric mirrors in too? I’ve done that but haven’t got round to diagnosing why they don’t work yet

@@AtypicalWorkshop im not really bothered about them . I have my mirrors slightly tilted so i can see kerbs so im ok 😂
