How To Install Embrace Racing Quad Bi-Xenon Flushmount Headlights (Pontiac Fiero)

In this video I will show you how to install the quad bi-xenon flushmount headlight kit from Embrace Racing! These retrofit lights are the latest version of the kit that fits all model years of the Pontiac Fiero. They replace the stock pop up lights and eliminate all of the problems related to the Fiero headlight motors. Installation requires no permanent modification of your vehicle and no body work or holes being drilled in your car.
This latest version of the Embrace Racing quad bi-xenon flushmount headlight kit features the following:
► True poly-carbonate lenses
► Improved sealing from weather and elements
► ABS formed housing
► Anodized aluminum brackets
► Improved fit and finish all round
► Easier to aim headlight mechanism
Overall, the kit has been vastly improved from previous versions in terms of materials and from a fit and finish stand point. If you have an older version of the kit, good news.. the new lenses are backwards compatible with your kits. So you are still supported if you need new lenses!

Not included in the kit are the bulbs, ballasts, and wiring harness due to the huge variety of options available. If you are looking to find compatible components, look for 35W HID bulbs and ballasts H1 size. The wiring harness should be a H4/9003 harness for bi-xenon control. This will plug into the Fiero harness for the high beam signal. A regular relay harness will not work to control your high beams. Be sure to watch the video for a more in depth explanation.

also how do i turn the light up. high beams are like low beams and low beams are can barely be seen. hoping isnt that switch thing under the bulbs. really dont wanna take it apart again.

The solenoid under the projector controls the cut off shield. You shouldn't have to adjust that ever. You may just need to re-aim your lights ... you may have aimed them too low from the start!

Nice styling and a reasonable price, but are the headlights DOT approved? And I kind of like the clear look. My solution was to replace the rectangular lamps with Polycarbonate housings and halogen lamps. I converted the motorized part with parts from a Pontiac TransAm, which are a more reliable design.

@@EmbraceMaking In NJ, where I live they made my son remove some aftermarket taillamps from his BMW because they lacked A DOT number. They can be a real PITA here. My Fiero no longer needs inspection since they only test cars with OBD2 computers, everything else is self inspection now.

If you come across the wrong guy, for sure they can make your life miserable and give you a fix it ticket. That is one good thing about some of these older cars... there seems to be a bit more flexibility with what they let you get away with.

More info for bulbs, ballast, and relay harness. These H1 bulbs, so far I haven't found any that are street legal. Legal for fog lights, yes, but not headlights.

You likely won't find any that are truly street legal. Certainly not when being fitted inside of a halogen housing. In a projector housing like these I would still probably say that it is not going to be legal. When properly aimed you won't be blinding oncoming traffic so you won't be drawing unwanted attention to yourself... however... you are still modifying your vehicle and most aftermarket lights / bulbs / housings carry no certification or compliance. Therefore you modify at your own risk. Depending on your local laws it is likely that most modifications to any functional part of the vehicle are going to be frowned upon if carefully inspected.

Do I have to use Bi-Xenon lights? Are there other less pricey types bulbs that could be use if modified to fit?????

You have to use H1 HID bulbs (35W kits only, not 55W). H1 halogen's do not fit and run too hot. The bi-xenon function comes from the projector itself rather than the bulb. The solenoid + shield in the projector allow for a regular H1 HID bulb to perform the function of both high beam and low beam depending on the position of the shield. H1 HID kits (bulbs + ballasts) can be found very cheap on ebay (~$30) for a kit or you can get a pretty decent set for around $70. This set up has four projectors total but you really only need to run two lights like me. The outer two projectors I just put LED demon eyes in them (see my latest video) so they look like they light up but the inner two projectors are the only ones that actually have HID bulbs in them. Plenty bright!

Resale value on these cars is nothing at this point. Unless you have one that is still wrapped in the delivery plastic, there is no point. I believe the Fiero store was making replacement motors at some point, they might still ... but at the end of the day even the new motors fail and cause problems. It's just inherently less problematic to have lights without motors.

@@EmbraceMaking no, the Fiero Store was selling either rebuilt old motors or you could buy the plastic parts to rebuild old ones yourself. What I’m saying, is that someone needs to make a completely new replacement motor, one that operates the light as the originals only better. P.s.: I bought my all original 86.5 GT with 39,000 miles 14 years ago, and since then, it has nearly doubled in value since then, so I wouldn’t say that Fiero’s have no appreciation value, unless of course you add some cheap ass replacement lights to it. LOL Go Pontiac!

Not sure if that is supposed to be a dig against these lights but I wouldn't call them "cheap ass replacement lights." The stock Fiero lights, although a nice novelty when they pop up, have terrible light output. These far out perform the stock sealed H4 units. I've also had my Fiero for 17 years now and I've seen the price fluctuations over the years. Even if the value doubled, we're not talking about collector car value here... The only Fiero in recent memory that has sold for anything significant was the all original, never driven example that just went to auction for 90K. That was very much an outlier as nobody is going to pay even close to that again.
