Most informative video on installing EVA foam on KZbin that I've found. Thanks!

Thanks! The most detailed installation of this I've seen! Template making, cutting, sanding a chamfered edge, radius, burning the fuzz, how to remove the backing in sections....excellent!

Wow I was just thinking about what material to use as a template. You reminded me I have a large sketchbook I bought for an art class in my closet

Great job. Looks really nice . I like the attention to details. Thanks for the advice on router issues and the sanding and lighter looks like the way to go.

Great info mate! How’s the condition after 12 months? Have you had to re-stick any of it down?

Is it still sticking? Just got some of the same stuff and the instructions said to use additional adhesive. Thanks for the vid.

Good job mate, whats happening with the voyager?
@island_life_whitsundays Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, was put aside for a bit but I actually just picked up all the resin, matting and expanding foam for the boat yesterday. Still trying to source some 38mm thermolite, there seems to be a nationwide shortage.

@@island_life_whitsundays Thanks mate, really looking forward to the progress, I'm restoring a sundance sports fisherman which is a flop of a Haines v17r hull and these things take much longer that you think right. You want to do a good job but it takes time to get the right finish. Best not to rush it as we want these boats to last for 20 years and be better than factory.
@island_life_whitsundays Жыл бұрын
@@Fluid36 yeah 100% mate. I had told myself 2 years but I think it will probably be closer to 3.But yeah, done properly it will last a lifetime! It was my dads boat and I will probably be able to give it to my kids

Ive heard complaints about the color match from roll to roll with the cheaper materials, what is your experience and brand used?
@island_life_whitsundays Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I didn't notice any colour difference between my rolls. I just used ebay foam 👍
@atmm892 жыл бұрын
how did you get the roll out, from the way they posted to you??, mine is so tight and keeps springing back, won't stay flat. great video mate
@island_life_whitsundays2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I had to roll it out and lay a few things on it to hold it flat overnight. It was all good after doing that. 👍
How is that black foam in the heat on the feet? Looks great!
@island_life_whitsundays Жыл бұрын
It's actually really good mate. 1000x better than the bare alloy as well.

I have been researching doing this myself after receiving a U.S. $4,000 estimate just to do my aft deck in 2 color 6mil. I have been watching different KZbin how to videos and I think I am going to try my DIY hand at it. Seadek is have a material sale right now so Now is the tim3 to pull the trigger. I will be under $600 in materials.

Yeah, that's the go mate! For $600 it's worth a crack 👍
