It can never just be cut and dry?! Good to see a genuine video, where there’s an issue, and it gets resolved. I’m going to pick one of these up for my upstairs bathroom. My goofy kid’s can’t seem to close the curtain correctly, and the garage ceiling (directly below the shower), is getting a little funky!. I measured and it’s 1/2” off, 53 1/2” on the bottom, and 54” on the top. Wish me luck…

Good video. I have a framed shower sliding door that looks similar to yours. Water Is leaking onto the wall from the bottom left corner of the door when the shower is on. I put clear caulking, but I obviously did not put the caulking in the right area. Water is still leaking onto the wall, while the shower door is closed. If you have any suggestions for me on preventing the water from leaking out the bottom of the door i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much.
@tetmax4 жыл бұрын
Hello. Sorry to hear you have troubles with the leakage. Are you talking about the shower side of the shower? If so I can think of 4 reasons: 1. The sliding door on the shower side should be on the inside rail of the bottom track - closer to the tub. 2. The shower doors need to hang lower to the bottom track (may be need some rollers adjustments to move the doors lower). 3. Not enough caulk under the bottom track. 4. Also, there was a little clear plastic clip that needs to be clipped on the inside wall jamb on the very bottom - on the shower side. It keeps the inside door stay on the track in one position. I did not film it because did not think it was important at that time. See if you installed it properly. If nothing of this helps try to start the water and go outside and observe where the water comes from exactly. Hope you figure it out somehow. Good luck!
@bowler84 Жыл бұрын
I have virtually the same doors on my tub. While installation was fine, that top track is now drooping ever so slightly in the middle causing my doors to both want to slide towards the center of the tub and away from the wall. This perplexed me for some time until I put a level across the top and found the bow in the track. So far I have just used some magnets affixed to the tops of the doors that contact some steel I screwed under the top screws on the vertical pieces. I think this aluminum is not very strong and with the weight of the doors coupled with the occasional grabbing onto from people, the track has sagged. Trying to figure out a better solution. May just have to buy a different door system.

How dis you just screw into the fibreglass though? I see people say you cannot attach these doors to dibreglass but it seels like you were able to. Did yiu not need any special plugs or ankers? Great video.
@tetmax Жыл бұрын
@ Ruan Pienaar, Thank you for commenting! I did not use any anchors. I decided to just try without them and see if it holds OK. The main force during the use is directed in/out of the tub where the screws do not need any anchors. If you would try to pull out the side bars in the direction opposite to the wall then you would probably need them but since it's not happening mine hold on fine after 4 years of use. The top bar also helps to secure side bars. I used a smaller drill bit though, so the screws are a bit bigger then the holes I drilled. Also, I put some silicone to the bottom holes prior inserting the screws just to keep the water out of it. I can guess if you screw in just once it will be fine without any anchors. If you screw in/out a few times the holes become a bit lose and you will need some kind of an anchors.

Did you caulk on the inside of the enclosure (tub side) or the outside? I caulked the inside first and noticed some water leaking under the frame. After researching I’ve found some kits have drain holes on the inside that shouldn’t be caulked. I no longer have my install instructions for this door (same as yours) so I’m wondering if I should add more caulking to the outside, or remove my inside caulk or ?? Any suggestions? Thanks!
@tetmax4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Everything I did with caulking I showed in the video. I did the bottom rail and added a few drops when was screwing the side bars - but only on the bottom screws. I did not have to add any additional caulk anywhere since then. There has not been no any leakage but I gave it 24 hours to dry out before using the enclosure. As for suggestions, I would definitely seal it if it was my case. Would try to notice where the leakage comes from and caulk it carefully from any side - in or out. Good luck to you on fixing it! 😊
@ammannclan4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I also caulked under the main rail when I installed it but will try to find the exact location of the leak and go from there. Worst case I pull it apart and start over. I appreciate your video and your reply!

Hi, what tool did you used to cut through the metal? Thank you.
@tetmax4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for visiting! It was a regular table saw. The metal is pretty soft so a hand saw or a jig saw would do the job easily. But I wanted a more nice looking cut so used a table saw instead.

Did you use some kind of anchors when drilling the rail to the acrylic wall or did you just drill regular screws into it? The acrylic wall has a space between it and the drywall no?
@tetmax4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for visiting! Yes, the wall has a space but it is not crucial since the frame is locked in by top and bottom rails. Therefore I did not use any anchors. The screws do not allow any in/out movement and the rails secure the frame within the enclosure.

@tetmax5 жыл бұрын
Hello Raymond! What is that exactly in step 5 that you question?
@tetmax5 жыл бұрын
Raymond, if you are talking about the little plastic clip (panel locator) I just inserted it on the bottom of inside the shower wall jamb. It seems to be useless in my situation as my door panels stay within the guide anyway. I guess if somebody pushes the shower side panel from the outside of the tab the panel locator will block the panel from moving off the track. Hope my explanation make any sense! :)))
@raymondaltman75 жыл бұрын
@@tetmax it's just a small plastic clip that you are not sure where to put it. I thought it was a door stop to keep people from slamming the shower door. But the clip broke into pieces first door slam. It sounds like it is to help guide the bottom door so it doesn't flop around, but there doesn't seem to be a problem and the plastic piece is fragile.

My bathtub doors got disaligned in the top rail and it is difficult to move them . How can I realign them?
@tetmax4 жыл бұрын
Hello Varda, Thank you for commenting. Let me answer. Here is how it works. The kit maker must provide you with functional mechanism and your task is to assemble it properly and prepare your environment to be suitable for the kit. Now, what you describe is a problem that has to be fixed by the manufacturer. My kit also came defective - one of the rollers did not have any thread on it. I called the kit producer with the provided number and they sent me a replacement free of charge overnight. What you describe sounds like a defective part. I would call the manufacturer and requested a replacement or returned the kit back to the store and get a new one without any issues. Good luck with everything.
