Your online tool is very useful. I have used it to calculate what a full glass pool fence will cost and it is less than what I am being quoted for a front panel only. You have saved me from overpaying. Even in this climate I do not think that labour should be 180% of the material cost I am sorry to say because that is just too much. People who need this work to be compliant also are doing it rough.

I wish there was a trim piece at the corner where the glass meets at the corner or even black clips to make it look finished. Looks great otherwise, I guess a guy could put a laser level at the bottom or run a string line to ensure all the brackets are set at the height. I usually put a nut on the rod at the depth I want so I don’t pound them into the concrete to far. Your not getting them out if you do. Speaking from experience lol. I love the look of the frameless glass. Looks very clean. Great work.

Thanks for the video. Great timing as I’ve been looking into doing this myself as part of my current pool reno. I knew about the earthing, but had never seen the insulating kits for the spigots. Also good to see that threaded rod and Chemset will do the trick, as I wasn’t looking forward to core drilling and setting the spigots in that way.

Hi Lee, great video mate! One tip for clearing those hammer drill holes. Grab a small battery blower and cut some hose at a length that’s comfortable with a 45 cut on one end, then Gaffa tape the hose in the end of the blower 😎 can clear those holes without the compressor setup and in most cases without the brush too 🤙🏽

Negative use a vacuum like everyone else. Everyone has a vacuum. unless you like creating silica dust and inhaling it.

Thanks for the video! From your experience, what does it look better, longer or shorter glass panels? I have the option to install 1200mm or 1600mm panels, but I cant really visualize it :)

My opinion is larger panels. Means less spigots

Hi Lee, What threaded rod are you using? (Dimension and material) Would you recommend nylon lock nuts? Any reason you prefer this technique over core drilled spigots? Perhaps you could do a video of the pros/cons of each technique? Thanks - good video.

Hi Lee, I have a question for you . I have a travertine floor around the pool and i don’t think is concrete under the tiles , do you think the chemical concrete would help the spigots stay in place
@_PEEN1E6 ай бұрын
No, a solid concrete footing is essential. There will come a day with strong winds and the glass panels will act like sails in the wind. If you do not have a good foundation the wind will rip the fence straight out of the ground and become extremely dangerous.

You just blew concrete silica on to yourself and almost got in your face. Not smart you should of at least used a mask. But really you should of use a vacuum, and they even have now cordless drill with vacuum adapters.
