I like short videos. Mine ran perfectly fine yesterday, but now I'm diagnosing a fuel problem. It has never hesitated, but I have had a couple of backfires when turning the machine off. This is a good starting point since I was unaware of the screen on the pump. Great quick video.

@@247parts it was the fuel pump. I was afraid it might have been the needle solenoid at the bottom of the carb bowl, but it checked out leaving the pump as the culprit.

Mine backfires too after I shut it off. It's been doing that for awhile. I am going to replace the fuel filter (it's looks dirty inside even though the dealer indicated they replaced it on the Winter service) and I am thinking about the fuel pump too. It is very hard starting when it is cold. I poured a little TruFuel into the carb and it started right up which leads me to believe it's a fuel delivery problem at low rpm cranking speed. It runs fine after it starts.

Just a heads up on John Deere D110 fuel pump. They have Removed the two screws that hold on the fuel pump and replaced them with plastic push on pins. You need to use a flat screwdriver and put behind the fuel pump (where the screws used to be) and SLOWLY pry out.

I didnt think to check the screen on the back. Will check your channel for more info. My mower is having trouble staying running. Just over a year old. I think i could have debris in the tank. I was able to drain it fully. Strange that I can blow are into the tank (disconnecting the fuel filter and blowing into the tube), but opening the tank lid then blowing that directions is pretty much impossible. when i do it, some fuel comes out of the open line (where fuel filter is), but the air is SUPER difficult to get through, and im not sure why. I am thinking a large leaf could be covering the hole, explaining why it is blocked in only one direction. I replaced the filter already with no luck. If i disconnect the pump from the filter and pour some fuel into the line (going into the pump), the mower will run until that fuel has burnt out. Also, when the mower is running, no fuel is accumulating in the filter. I really dont want to have to pull the whole tank out, nor do i want to take the carb apart (i have never done it before). Any ideas? (sorry for long post)

Hi, Got a 12 year old JD 534 that has been great. Did the maintenance kit on it a month or so ago (oil, fuel, air filters and plugs). After cutting for a while, tractor starts to miss. If I let it cool off for 10 minutes or so it runs fine for awhile again, till it starts all over again. Thought it was a bad new plug and replaced it, and it ran for a couple hours till it all started happening again. Got any ideas?

I hae a JD X360, twin cylinder. Diesel fuel got put in it instead of gas. I've drained the fuel using a siphon using the fuel line prior to the fuel filter. It starts but bogs down then shuts off. Choke it and it starts but does the same thing. Do I need to replace the fuel pump and the fuel filter or just the fuel filter?
@247parts Жыл бұрын
Did anyone try to start the mower when it had diesel in it? You will probably need to pull the tank and clean it, replace the fuel lines, filter and pump. and then also clean the carburetor to be safe.
@georgedepper9889 Жыл бұрын
@@247parts Yes they did. I've drained the fuel tank using the fuel line to the fuel filter. I've put fresh fuel in it. It'll start but run for maybe 15-20 seconds then sputter out. If I choke it it'll run for another 15-20 seconds. My plan is to remove the fuel filter, add more fresh gas with SeaFoam in it and see if it'll keep running. If that dosen't work, I'll spray some eather into the carb and see it it keeps running. If that dosen't work, replace the fuel pump and the fuel filter. Sugestions?
