My hair is a bit thin. In your opinion which method puts the least amount of tension on the hair. To bead or not to bead?

vanessa shaw Hey, Venessa how’s it going? I would say the Braidless weave which is done with silicone beads or tape ins. 100g to 150g max would be perfect for fine and/or thin hair to add volume/length and still protect the integrity of your natural hair. Hope that helps 💕 Also, nanos are a great option ( just a smaller bead )

ThybeautybarTM Thanks so much for your quick response. I must confess the reason I am asking is because I am preparing to do my first retwist on my braid locs I know this method is not really meant for braid locs but the more I look at it the more I am convinced it could work...even during in the interlocking phase. What I don’t want to do is risk pulling on the new growth causing it to thin out at the roots. Have you ever tried this on braid locs or twists?

vanessa shaw no I haven’t but you could Probably just use thread with no bead and sew through the locs

ThybeautybarTM Again...thank you. Years ago we used to sew individual hair extensions onto our hair. The extensions were way too thick and heavy. By the time you cut it off...the weight would have pulled out your own hair by the roots. Even cutting through the thread was problematic because the thread and the hair had almost fused and it was difficult to tell difference between the thread...the extension... and your own hair. Consequently, a lot of hair was accidentally cut off. So I think I’m going to try the beads. Again thank you for your insight.

NoOne Really Hey! You need keratin remover. My fav is Solvent C-22 by Walker. Spray directly onto bond and then use your pliers to crack and slide bond out 🌸
