This should be the first mod you do after installing a 6-point harness. Great video

Is the hans post anchor included with the hans? or do you have to buy it separately

I do have one question about the anchors, when the helmet gets old and does not fit, can you still take off the anchors on that helmet and put it on a new one or you have to buy new ones?
@Riskspeed3 жыл бұрын
Yes the anchors are removable. As long as the anchors are in good shape I don’t see why you can’t swap them onto your new helmet.

I do have one last question, have you heard of the Simpson Hybrid, which is another HANS device not just for the neck but for your body. I need to know which one is better, a regular HANS or a Simpson Hybrid?

Not to be that guy, but i noticed in the video your helmet is SA2010. Idk if the tracks you run enforce it but technically your helmet is expired... i just went threw the same thing and had to by a new one. There only good for 10 years so as of 2021 need a SA2015 good till 2025 or SA2020 good till 2030. Just would suck to show up to a track and them not let you run bc of helmet.
@Riskspeed3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m looking into getting a replacement soon. Luckily most smaller tracks seem to give a grace period.

In the UK you don’t need a in date helmet to do track days.

I just googled the chart online for the Hans neck size & then I just went off my t-shirt neck size. Mine is a Large.

I guess a HANS device won’t work with a regular seatbelt?

This traditional HANS device doesn't. But I'll be making another video soon on my new one that does work with regular seat belts!

These types of devices can potentially help keep one relatively saver when it comes to one type of injury (basal skull fracture) but nothing beats driving at the posted speed limits and being responsible. In some cases they can make you much less safe because you feel invincible and push the envelop (you tend to then drive faster.) Put plain and simple, speed kills. There exists no device for poor decisions. Hopefully the only time you drive fast is on the track but given your RiskSpeed hat, I somehow doubt it. I say all of this as someone who also loves cars and had my own share of quick ones including a Mustang 5.0. I have also ridden fast motorcycles for years (responsibly of course as I am still here!) I ended up selling it though (too many close calls.) I understand the rush very well. It also not just about the vehicle and speed- it very much becomes a social thing- and it's a ton of fun. I still miss riding. I have just seen things that I cannot unsee and when you get older you realize the risks are probably not worth it. I know what I say won't make any difference but please stay safe (and keep others around you safe as well- we all share the same roads.)
@Riskspeed3 жыл бұрын
I’m totally with ya, I drive a slow civic on the street and save the fast driving for the track only.
