Thank you so much! Turns out I was shy to put in my password where that little key icon is. I'm so new to terminals in general that I was confused not seeing characters pop up lol. But now I'm up and running. I downloaded Macaulay2 for algebra and everything is great thanks to your video.

Super helpful video thank you. I get stuck though around 1:39 when it says "sudo". My computer just stops there. I waited for 20+ minutes. About to explore how to fix that. But thank you again!

The sudo command on a Mac allows you to run commands with administrative or “root” privileges. It’s often used to execute commands that require higher-level access than a standard user account. Let me know what happens. Use my discord channel to reach out if you’re still stuck.
