How to install HP Laserjet 1000 on Windows 8, 7 and Vista 32 bit

WORKED! I had to restart my spooler a couple times and unplug my usb cable a few time but now it works. I have two icons for HP 1000 now, if I delete one it screws everything up so I will just keep both., Thanks

For a 64 bit solution, put the printer on a 32bit machine like WinXP as a print server. Your Win 7 64 bit machines will be on the network. Install the host based drivers from HP. Modify the DOS driver and link it to the USB port. Install the printer on Win 7 machine as a local printer with a port name \\Computer Name\Share Printer Name. Windows update the drivers!!! Use the HP LaserJet 1100 MS driver. References: Read the posts made by Los 15 and erpp on HP Support forums.

Hi Ali. It doesn't work anymore. Everytime I switch off/on my PC, HP LJ1000 shows fine on device manager, but does not print. Win7 Home Premium, Version 6.0.1.7601 (SP 1). Do you have any idea what to do? Thanks :-)

Hello: My language native is spanish. I look for this informatión in english and find your video. Is very good. In support page of HP they say "you must to buy other new printer". This printer is very good, don´t use chip, and can refill easily. thanks

Thanks it worked! But at first nothing happened and then in the device manager where the printer had "?" mark I click update and "mighty- crap" win 7 update drivers with sucess! So now WORKS. But I am still not shure what happened.

At the end it is looking for a *.inf file, and the one I saved was lj629en.exe. When I click "have disk" it will not accept this file. And I cant find any installation file on the laptop. I have ran the exe file, it did say it has finished, but where are those files? I dont see where it placed them, so I cant point to any of it. I hope it makes sense.. :-)

Hi incredibleali - I tried but failed - don't know if my printer is 64 or 32 bit - all I know is it's a Lexmark X2350 series and of all the printers that one for Lexmark is not listed - and as for HP1000 laserjet I don't know if that will be compatable!!! So I think I will have to buy a new printer that will be compatable with Windows7 to enable me to print. So pissd off as my Lexmark is brilliant, it only takes 1 cartridge for black and colour, is easy to replace

can someone tell me in plain English if Microsoft are sending new updates soon for windows 7 printers - my perfectly good Lexmark X2350 series which worked very well with xp software now will not print!!!! Any solutions please??? It's an all-in-one printer and scanner and fax too but I have never used the latter. Simple instructions will be very highly appreciated!!!!

Instead of a long-ass 9minute video, you could have just said that we need to install XP drivers, and manually input it again from Device manager. Just a suggestion, write the all instruction before starting the recording.
