Hi thanks for the video! I was going crazy from the understanding waveshare wiki. However, the wiki tells us to modify the dtb, in order to activate the onboard sdcard slot sdmmcblk1. Any suggestions how to do that together with this video method?

I have tried to follow the steps they have mentioned in their wiki page but no success. This is why I found its alternative method and its been working fine. Have mailed this to waveshare but no response.

Worked from USB sd card reader, but not working on-board SD card. Do you know why ?

In my case, my on board sd card reader was faulty. You can check this first.

I have not tried this but you can read back the files from sd card and compress it to make your own customized os file. Lot of people have done the same thing with Raspberry Pi

Hey I am really greatful to you for this explaination video on sd card and emmc. I had flashed with SDK manager. The partition given is 14GB where as my SD card is 32GB and i was very frustrated as i was working on CUDA and Object detection projects on the nano where 14GB is too less. But it flashes to emmc of the jetson nano and i didn’t knew this all the time i am thinking there is a bug in sdk manager and its taking my 32GB sd card 16GB and flashing it. In this video i got to know about emmc. Thank you very much.

One question, after doing this, if for some reason I want to re flash my SD card with the image provided from the zipfile at the getting started guide, is that possible? Another question, I've flashed jetson through micro sd card at first, should I choose manual or automatic? I'm happy enough to start over redownloading all my packages

I think I didn't get your question completely but I feel if you want to re flash you should be able to just copy the filesystem from internal memory to sd card .

Hello, Nice video! I have followed the steps for the jetson and can boot without problems. However, when I plug the SD card in the Jetson dev kit and type "sudo jetson_clocks" followed by "gnome-disks" I can't see the SD card. I have tried formatting it on another ubuntu machine as ext4 but it still does not detect the card. Do you have any ideas, besides using an SD card reader instead?

I think the author has followed the dtb modifications (because they are specifically there to enable the sd card detection) but discarded them in the end. However, I wasn't able to make my sd card work even when following them, I think there's still something missing.

@@nhatnguyentrong5627 For me the solution was to use "sudo ./flash.sh jetson-nano-emmc mmcblk0p1" instead of mmcblk1p1, which makes more sense since we want to run first from the emmc (which is mmcblk0p1) and then update the sdcard (mmcblk1p1). The whole process of modifying the dtbs needs to be done first, to enable the sd card.

I'm just a bit more experienced beginner. You experience that, because he unchecked the SDK components (see at time 6.43). Need to be installed the SDK components as well otherwise you will miss a lot of software for do for example the Nvidia DL course for beginners.

if you mean the boot from EMMC then just use sdkmanager to flash a clean jetpack onto the jetson

I have an issue when flashing the card it says "The target is in a bad state The Jetson target is in a bad state and cannot be flashed. Please manually put the target into recovery mode and then retry flashing." however i did connect the 2 pins as you mentioned Do you have any idea on how to solve this issue ?
