My five cents; - use the frame for the negative, use a relay taking feed from behind the ignition lock to the switch, no risk that you may leave the lights on with engine off and last, use a fuse for the feed.

Thanks for posting this video. I was hoping to do something similar but instead of drawing power directly from the battery is there a way to tap power only when the key is turned on and power. I’m too stupid to remember to turn lights off and would prefer not to leave them on all week to drain the battery. Thanks again

There probably is a way but would take more involvement of other components. This was just the easiest/quickest way for me

Did you just drill the screw on the top of the bar or did you drill a hole through the bottom and tighten it with a nut?

Couldn't you just ground the lights to the frame instead of running the neg to the battery? I am just asking because I am a real novice to electrical on machines.

Instead of using zip ties I superglue the wires to the frame.
