Yes I always put cove or shoe mold down were water may be use Not wood or pvc trim with lexel

We lay a bunch of this in northern Tennessee, great product , prefer laying lvp to laminate, easier to cut faster to lay

How about underlayment? Or a liquid waterproof membrane underneath, so when the water leaks past the joints, it Doesn't damage the plywood? Great content!!!

Liquid waterproofing would be a great idea. This was an existing linoleum that I was going over. If it was a full renovation, a sheet membrane or liquid waterproofing would be the way to go 👍

What is that as a substrate? Linoleum perhaps? Can that product be installed over old bathroom flooring like tile? Sorry BRT, too many questions at once. 😜

Yeah, old peel & stick linoleum. It was down pretty good too. But yeah you could definitely float over exiting tile as long as it’s flat (1/8” in 6ft) 👍

It would be interesting to do a water test - build a box and use this stuff on the floor and 4 inches up the sides, seal the corners and changes of plane with silicone and then fill it with water and see what happens.

I've always wondered if those products are "waterproof" as in the joints will hold water till it evaporates, or if it really means just that the product itself is impervious to water...

Great question. If any water gets to the sides pretty sure it’s done. But the surface is pretty hardy. Can’t imagine water penetrating that

Thank you for your reply about the mint tile. You mentioned the niche tile but not the wall tile on corners/turns. What tile did you use? How did you turn those corners? Thank you for the work you do. I never considered editing time. Anxious to see the tile install. It's beautiful.

The outside corner was full 6” bull nose pieces. I think it was $600 for 20- 6” bull nose and 14 - radius caps for niches 🤩

@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Thank you again for replying and clarification. I use DalTile too, but that sure sounds expensive. A piece of trim profile (esp. PVC) would cost much less, but I like the tile edge. I cannot find the niche "radius bullnose" or "radius caps" as you mentioned. Suggesions? Still anxious to see the install!!!!

@@cr250r9 No. I got hit with a bout of viral labyrinthitis (crazy extreme dizziness) and still (almost a year later) if I exert myself too much or move around too quickly I risk triggering a dizzy spell again. I dunno that I will ever do it myself now.

Silicone is considered a flexible joint so yes floor will move 👍

Is it? Maybe. It sure feels like a laminate core. I’ve always associated the lvp with the very thin fully vinyl stuff…
