Hi! Thanks for the tutorial... I'm about to follow it, but since UTM is a paid app on the Mac App Store... Before spending 10€ to buy the app I was wondering if you could answer a question I have... I want to have Tiger installed in order to play some good old Mac games I have... Do you know if this emulation allows you to play 3D intensive Mac OS X games and with Hardware Acceleration Support? The real question is... Do games like Halo, Tron 2.0 or even Bionicle (as examples) work with this method? Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply… It was 9,99€ on the Mac App Store… I also didn’t mind buying it… But yeah… Kinda worth if it lets me run OS X Tiger… At least to work with programs and almost no games whatsoever… As it lacks hardware acceleration at all… I managed to leave the resolution at 1080p… But that’s all I can do… There is stuttering everywhere… At least it works… I’m still tinkering with it so I can transfer files from the host machine to the guest machine…

I don't know which version of UTM you are using but I downloaded UTM today and began following your instructions and the options are different and nothing like the ones you show in the video. My version is v4.5.2. I get stuck early on when I get to a 'terminal' style screen and then have no idea what to do next. Can anyone help?

Hello Nik, can you show a tutorial for OS X El Capitan 10.11 on M1. It doesn't work for me. El Capitan is the last system with software for Intel Mac. That would help me a lot. Regards Piotr

Unfortunately, UTM has changed since this was created, some of the steps are very sifferent, some automated. I tried to follow these steps and adapt where there were changes, but couldn't get past the first yellowish page where it says "Trying /pci@f20000000/mac...." Time for an update, please (Big Sur on 2015 MBAir)

you can, if I remember right you can install macOS 9 and upgrade it to macOS X for full classic support

I downloaded a working ISO that is designed specifically for power PC from Internet archive by searching macOS 10.4 ISO for power PC download. Also, sometimes the problem isn’t with UTM itself, but certain files may not be bootable. The one I got is probably the fourth one I tried. As for the settings, in version 4 and above, you have to create the VM as normal, then in the toolbar at the top, you have to click on edit and that’s where you can change the system, CPU, ram, sound, etc. If anyone needs the URL to the ISO let me know.

I downloaded it from the Macintosh Repositry, but it is also available in Macintosh Garden and Internet Archive. I got two .toast files and then came across a way to convert them to .dmg and then to .iso. My problem is that what UTM shows me is nothing like what Nick here has demonstrated.

@@FlipAmbigram It was a while ago now, but if I remember I simply renamed the file from (without the quote marks) simply ',dmg' then agreed when the system asked me if that was correct.
